Self Challenge. Jay-me's no pressure challenge 2012
51 and 52 finished

After a week of rambling around my Unread books on the kindle, trying some of the freebies, reading some trying & deleting others I've started
I'm also reading slowly through
57 58 and 59
so-so
liked it
enjoyed it Yes Emma I did like Alice Parker.
I have read more - but it has been freebie fluff, lots going on at work (twice as much stuff to finish in half the time) so reading has been an escape.
60I'm halfway to my target now that I have read
I've counted "our authors" and started a separate challenge thread. I just need to find out whether Libby Malin counts as one of "ours" as she doesn't have her own thread but is part of Istoria Books http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/7...
Books 74, 75 and 76 are actually (is actually?) one book split into three parts. Goodreads counts it as three separate books, so for the purposes of the challenge that is how they will stay. Besides I doubt that it would make a difference to reaching the total that I set for this challenge.
When I added the last ones today the challenge thingie suggested I increased my challenge target. There are quite a few short stories included so far.Added three more - 81 followed by two lots of short stories 82 & 83
Current total is 84 out of 120 I don't know whether to leave the target at 120 or increase it - don't know what would happen when I reach that number of books read. Obviously the challenge would say completed, but would it carry on counting the books?
Book number 84 was
which also makes 56 books by 38 different GR authors for my other challenge.
I didn't read much this last week, but have managed to get going again since arriving back home from the camping trip. So here are books 92, 93, 94, 95 and 96
My other challenge is now 62 books by 42 different authors
Book 100 is stuck between books 99 and 101 but it deserves some special attention so
& that makes 67 books by 45 different authors in my "our authors" challenge.
Now I have to decide whether to update the Goodreads Challenge, or just complete it as it is -aiming for 120 books - and just carry on counting on this thread.
It looks like a lot of books - but Jud has read about the same number and Sarah has read more than I have. There are also quite a few short stories included.
Adding number 102 which I had read earlier but for some reason hadn't included it. Plus number 103 by one of my favourite authors.
104, 105 and 106 I've nearly reached my original target of 120. I've decided that when I add book number 119 I will increase the target by the number of short stories that I have read.
O.K. - I know what I mean
107, 108 and 109
73 books by 47 different authors in my other challenge http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/8...
Your challenge is going really well Janet,I wish I had kept note of the number of different authors.I have all the titles and authors recorded under a heading for each month in a notebook but I am afraid that's as technical as I get.Go You!

I like making lists and sorting things out. Added to my enjoyment in rooting through old records for my family history research I suppose my dream job would be an archivist.
I had thought of researching my family history but what I already know about some of my ancestors is enough.HeHe
Philip (sarah) wrote: "I had thought of researching my family history but what I already know about some of my ancestors is enough.HeHe"I'm just composing a letter to one of my dad's cousins, hoping that she can fill in some gaps about a couple of dad's uncles who moved to Canada.
My dad lived in Canada for a couple of years in the early fifties, he returned to Scotland to marry with the intention of returning however we came along very quickly afterwards and it never happened.

Which bit of Canada did he live in?
Ontario Patti,a place called Chippawa near the Niagra Falls,he was employed building a dam. He loved the country but I think my Mum was less adveturous, she stayed in the same village all her life.Glad I inhereted Dad's genes.Phil has 2 cousins in Canada, they used to live in Calgary but I think one of them has moved to Vancouver Island now.
My relatives live in Alberta and Vancouver. There are possibly some more near Kamloops - that is the link I'm writing to dad's cousin about.
114, 115, 116 and 117
Three based on Pride & Prejudice, and one other recommended by Ignite.
I enjoyed the modern version of P & P, not as keen on the short story sequel but the longer sequel was enjoyable.
I'm struggling for words to describe the one recommended by Ignite.
I'm approaching a couple of milestones with my challenges now that I have reached 117 -I've almost reached my original target of 120 and have also added 49 different "our authors" It would be neat if book 120 was the 50th author. I will have to study my TBR list and see what I can come up with.
Unless anyone has any suggestions?
Philip (sarah) wrote: "Have you read RJ's book Watching Swifts Janet?"I haven't. I haven't bought that one.
I have quite a few books already on my kindle that I should read before I add any more.
