Kate (katiebobus) | 6 comments If you are the moderator and want to quit the job, can you just leave the group? Will it remain a group?

Lisa Vegan (LisaVegan) | 8941 comments Kate, that's a good question and I don't know the answer, although I'm sure Otis will answer.

But I do know that you can designate other members in the group to be moderators. You could assign one or more, or better yet, post and ask for volunteers and make those people moderators. Before you leave.

Rob McMonigal | 41 comments Yes, I had an inactive group I left even though I founded it, and it still exists, with no moderator.

Lisa Vegan (LisaVegan) | 8941 comments Rob, Do you know if in that group someone could choose to be moderator or if it will now never have a moderator?

Yes, the moderator can leave. If they do, the moderator position will become 'up for grabs' to anyone in the group who wants it. Though we suggest you appoint a new one yourself.
