If you're crazy, it's in the best way, and you're in good company!

Anne | 85 comments I love my ereader... But the one thing I miss is loaning books out and having people love them too! Is it possible to lend ebooks I bought to my friends? Am I silly in asking that? Lol

April ♥"LOS" ♥ (amp2514) | 126 comments I know sometimes books I buy for my Nook say "Lend Me" so maybe it's possible.

You can only lend an ebook once. I hate that honestly. I feel that even though ebooks are supoosedly just licensed to you, you should be able to loan them out multiple times.

If they want to discourage ebook piracy, I think that restrictive policy works against it.

Alyssa Young (Lys13) | 2 comments So this may not be the best place for this question, but I've been wondering this for soooo long and haven't found a better venue: How do people become beta readers or volunteer editors?

Susan (the other Susan) (theothersusan) | 259 comments Just heard a piece on NPR about how people process books differently when reading a paper copy. The theory is that e-anything is associated with multi-tasking, while paper books are a more solitary experience and require a different kind of commitment.

✿ Natalie ✿ | 428 comments So my first love at the moment is reading, but my second is Crochet which I've just taken up. Anyone else here a crocheter?! I nearly gave up in frustration last week lol but glad I stuck it out as am getting in quite a flow now :-) The differences between UK and US terms threw me off for a bit!

I will say I have read many good cheap and free books, so I do not want to knock them... it is just frustrating to me. Maybe people are not bothering to put the bad rating on a book, i just don't get it. "

Angie I just posted a review on Amazon, which I haven't done in a while, and noticed a big difference between my reviews posted here. I tend to only bother posting reviews for "special little books that can" on Amazon so my rating average is much higher. In contrast, here I rate, and review almost everything read.

I don't crochet, but I've promised myself I'll get back into cross stitch and embroidery this year. It's a very big deal in Ukrainian culture, and it's a skill I want to keep in our family...

Sonya Heaney Anne wrote: "Random question: Am I going crazy or are the cover shot for The Proposition by Katie Ashley and the shot for Come Away with Me by Kristen Proby the same shot, right? Lol just wondering if I am losi..."

Yeah, they've been doing that a lot in recent years. Even the big publishers are just using stock photos. Maya Banks and Cherry Adair had books out around the same time with the same guy on the cover. I preferred Adair's cover, because Banks' was bright orange - hurt my eyes!

I've had no luck teaching myself to crochet. :(

Luna (lunaluss) Natalie, I like crochetting very much. It is such stress reliever! I like to crochet all kinds of things, as long as I wear them.

I can be a bit like that myself.

Yep, the more I do the more relaxing I find it :-)

And Danielle, I thought I was going the same way (I usually find it difficult to stick at things lol) but once I sorted out how and where to hold my hands and the wool best it all kind of clicked into place.

I think I will try my hand at sewing fairly soon. We got my aunt a sewing machine for Mother's Day.

April ♥"LOS" ♥ (amp2514) | 126 comments So I'm hoping someone can help me out. My Nook HD screen keeps going black while I'm reading. Has anyone else had this problem? B&N just sent me a new Nook and it's doing the same thing which makes me think it not the device but something else. If anyone has any suggestions/ideas I would love to talk.

Hi Sky. Glad you are able to get on GRs again! I remember when it was blocked at my work back in the day. That sucked!

message 373: by Zeecé (new)

Zeecé Lugo (goodreadscomzeecelugo) Hi, April. Does it have a sleep mode? Or a screensaver mode? A power saving mode? Check the settings and make sure that if it has those, they are turned off.

April ♥"LOS" ♥ (amp2514) | 126 comments I actually contacted Barnes and Noble and it turns out something was faulty with it. They sent me a replacement nook, it has worked fine ever since.

I watch it, Karen. It's pretty good, but I don't like how they have him getting with a new woman practically every week. That isn't representative of Frank to me. He wasn't a rake. But Chris Vance is good at the stunts and does a good Frank Martin, otherwise.
