Laura Morrigan (lauramorrigan) | 76 comments A boy and his sister and their mother are dragged into a fantasy world. the by may be the starchild. I'm fairly sure I have the word right but it might be something else-child. the chosen one. there is a mysterious man who helps them but may have a hidden agenda. the young girl can speak the the large red dragons or 'wurms' and the mother can speak to the small white ones, one of whom is a character.

I know there is a graphic novel series with the title Starchild but i really dont think that is it, unless it is based on the books. The one I read was definitely a novel, not a graphic novel.

Snail in Danger (Sid) Nicolaides (upsight) | 289 comments Starchild and Witchfire? The description and reviews here make me think this might be it.

Laura Morrigan (lauramorrigan) | 76 comments It won't let me go there for some reason, but I have a feeling this might be it.

Snail in Danger (Sid) Nicolaides (upsight) | 289 comments The synopsis is "When it snows in midsummer and a strange flying lizard appears at the window, Fern and Jamie know that old powers of magic are at work. A distant people need their help if they are to survive the forces of evil." And according to the reviews it involves two children and their mother, and at least one dragon.

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 1396 comments Hmm, the link works for me for Starchild and Witchfire by David Henshall. Do those links work for you, Laura?

The second/Amazon link you need to scroll down to get to the reviews.

Yes, the goodreads ones work for me, just not the amazon one. I think it was because it was UK and I'm in Australia, it's some kind of glitch, I know it won't let me shop there. I am nearly 100% sure this is it though, especially with that synopsis.

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 1396 comments Laura, Well, when you're certain, we'll move this to the solved folder and shelve the book, unless you want to move it now, or move it to the possibly solved folder.

I'm in the U.S. but I can get to amazon in all countries.

Hmm, it's working now, but I tried several times this morning and it didn't work. Must just be the usual technology issues. Ah, technology...

There is a little information on the Amazon one, and from that, I'm going to say I'm 99.99% sure so I think I'll just move it. Thanks.

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 1396 comments Okay, I'll shelve it too then. Thanks, Laura.

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 1396 comments Ah, I see it's already been shelved. I added the [s] at the end of the topic title and added it to the children's shelf, so the shelving would be complete.
