I have recently started reading James Patterson's books, after much coercing from my father and sister who have been reading his books for years. I am in the midst of the Women's Murder Club series and wondering what the heck took me so long to start reading Patterson books?! I love his writing style and plots. In a few short weeks I have become obsessed with reading his books. Please post topics about any of his books that are your favorite, least favorite (and why), etc. I can't wait to see what you think!

Brooke Jessica, I was thinking of making a JP group myself. I love, love, love his writing. I'm obsessed too! I have only read one complete book and I'm hooked. It was Cradle and All. Now I'm reading two of his.

Meredith Watson Looks like this group just started, so I'm happy to be in from the beginning. I started reading Patterson a couple of years ago and I really enjoy him. I've read the Cross and Women's Murder Club books, all except the last 2 installments of each. I have Cross in my 'to read' stack and I'll get to it and 6th Target sooner or later. I need to hurry up and read Cross since Double Cross is about to come out. I know he has other series too, but I really havent gotten into them.

I completely agree. I like his style too. I have also just started reading the Women's Murder Club series. I am hooked!!

Thanks to you all for joining. I am glad to see there are others equally obsessed with Patterson. haha

Kat (A Journey In Reading) (ajourneyinreading) I LOVE James Patterson. I started reading him several years ago, and he is my all time favorite author. Everyone knows what to get me for my birthday or Christmas (which by the way I got Double Cross for Christmas!!). They just have to do some snooping on my book shelf and make sure that I dont have the book already...lol

Now there is only one book from the Alex Cross series that I dont have. And everyone knows not to mess with me for an hour on Friday nights while I watch Womens Murder Club!

I too got Double Cross for Christmas (as well as the Beach House and Lake House) so I have to hurry up and read the others so I can read it! I haven't started the Cross books yet. But I am almost done with the Women's series. :)

message 9: by Mandy (new)

Mandy I have read almost all his books, I think there is one that has escaped me. His books take up majority of space on one of my bookshelves. One day I have intentions to go back and read them again in order and in series, eg, Alex Cross, Women's Murder Club.

I got Double Cross and You've Been Warned for Christmas. Am reading Double Cross at the moment and it's so hard to put down to do some work, I can't get through it fast enough!!!

I'm from Australia and am so excited that The Women's Murder Club is coming out on TV next year, can't wait!

Robyn (roxy_nj) | 6 comments Hi, I'm Roxy.
I read a bunch of JP books back in the Kiss the Girls days. Then I stepped away for awhile.
My book club selected "you've been warned" for this months read so I am sure I will be reading more JP books in the future.

Gina | 100 comments Hello, I started reading James Patterson last year. I'm currently reading the 5th Horseman. It's a really good series. I stumbled on to his books when Alex Cross was in the Theatres. Also, I was playing his Women's Murder Club PC games, and that is how I started reading his books. I was curious about the Women's Murder Club Series, so I started reading it. He's a very good writer, and he's at the top of my favorite author's list. I read alot.

There is a Women's Murder Club game???)

Hi! Yes, there are four games out for your PC. Women's Murder Club games - A Darker Shade of Grey, Death in Scarlet, Twice in a Blue Moon, and Little Black Lies. I'm still playing Death in Scarlet and Little Black Lies.

message 25: by Shelah (new)

Shelah (shelahkinnard) Hello all my name is Shelah. I am so very happy to have found this group. I am a huge James Patterson fan, I have many of his books and actively looking to read some of his newer works like NY/Red and Zoo. I look forward to the discussions.

message 26: by Rosie (new)

Rosie i just finished the little black lies game and a Darker shade of grey i have already played the other two! i sooo in love with the murder club books! i only just started them last year and already on the 5th one!

message 27: by Gina (new)

Gina | 100 comments I don't know why but Death in Scarlet is my least favorite game. I just don't enjoy it as much as the others. I still haven't finished playing it. I really liked Little Black Lies and Twice in a Blue Moon.

Hi Rosie, I love the Murder Club Series too. I haven't read any others yet, but I love the four friends in this book. I read them too fast though. I'm starting book 8 soon. I started reading these books last year too.

I'm a big fan of James Patterson and love mysteries and thrillers. I read all of Patterson's series, except a couple for younger readers. It will be nice to talk about his books with other like-minded readers rather than those who only put down his constant writing.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Kathryn,
I'm sure you are aware that I am one huge James Patterson fan. I have all his novels. The next book I'll be reading from him will be Unlucky 13. Just picked up my copy last weekend. Have you read Unlucky 13? :)

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi, Antonello. Yes, I remember that you are a big Patterson fan. That's how I saw that there was a group dedicated to him. I just read Unlucky 13 and I rated it 3 stars. The beginning had a lot of romance, which I'm not really into. Plus, Lindsay has become a little soft since becoming a mother and I'd like to see her get her edge back. The book did pick up toward the end and was fairly decent. I had just read NYPD Red 2 before that and that was excellent so I think that's what I was expecting more of. I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on the book.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Kathryn,
I also found Nypd Red 2 absolutely amazing. I am currently reading The Target by David Baldacci. Once I finish with that, I'm going to start reading Unlucky 13.
So, were there any surprises or twists and turns during the novel?
Have a wonderful day! :)

I think what turned the book around for me in Unlucky 13 is something that happens on a cruise that Yuki and Brady are on. Then things got a lot more interesting. That's all I'm going to say because I don't want to spoil anything for you. You'll have to let me know what you think. Is there a thread for that book? I'll have to check.

message 36: by [deleted user] (last edited May 29, 2014 08:48AM) (new)

Now I can't wait to read it. James Patterson sure knows how to keep his readers hooked. I will definitely keep you posted, Kathryn. Happy reading! :)
