Caitlin (catsbooksandcritters) | 28 comments I read this book at least 6 years ago, the parents said they need a pet just as much as they need another baby. But when they move to a new house with a secret room and the kids start sneaking pets in and (spoiler!!!) at the end of the book the mom announces that she is pregnant with twins and they can get two pets.

I also believe that their might have been a sequel in which they went on vacation and their older twin girls (?) hate how fish are killed and start boycotting animal products but I might be mixing books.
