I also loved when Kirk played Jesus in the living tableau episode and got all mad at the guy who played Judas.

I don't know, Michele. I just adore Kirk. He is so hilarious. He's the nuttiest loon in a town full of crazies. And Sean Gunn's performance was just so good.
Ooh! I also love A Film By Kirk. And the time when Kirk and Lulu were making out during Pippi Longstocking at the Red, White, & Black movie theater. And when Kirk hid the Easter eggs without making an egg map and had to find the rotting eggs and hadn't slept in two days.
Oh, and how about the time Kirk asked Lorelai out on a date? "I think you might be the prettiest girl I've ever seen, outside of a really filthy movie." LOL.
Here are Sean Gunn's favorite Kirk moments: http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20038...

Every time I hear "Do You Love Me?" I think of Kirk. And my husband directed Fiddler last year, so I heard it a lot.

I was laughing so hard watching that! The best line is at the beginning of it, though...
I'm here, I'm done, I flushed.
and the response:
Good boy Kirk.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA!

OH. MY. GOD. I just read that article about Sean Gunn's favorite Kirk episodes... When he says that he had a still of the Jesus episode that looked like the Last Supper framed and gave them to his family as Christmas gifts... can you get any funnier than that???

I think I'm right about this: Sean Gunn's brother was married to Jenna Fischer from The Office (Pam). But, sadly, they're getting a divorce. My guess is he was not too keen on Will Ferrell's multiple boob-grabbing moments in Blades of Glory. Just a guess.
The most genius thing about Kirk, to me, was the fact that he worked every job in town. Didn't he sell Luke Lorelai's engagement ring? From a tray of rings that he had pilfered from old widows?

And yes, Kirk's jobs (and his quarter million dollars that he save from all of them) are so Kirk. I personally liked the bath products he tried selling to the inn and then had to recall due to poor reactions to the ingredients! sigh. They need to find a way to bring back stars hollow!

But speaking of the show as a whole, I am somewhat in love with Luke. He is the perfect guy to me! Sweet, but not showy, so when he does show affection or romance it is super duper special. And he appreciates the relationship he has. Gosh I wanted to be Lorelai, but mainly to have the Luke/Lorelai relationship. Not to mention, he was hot when he was cleaned up, especially in the episode where they first kissed! The one where Kirk had the ninja assassin dreams!
I think the most romantic line in that whole show was the "Lorelai, this thing we are doing here - me, you. I just want you to know I'm in, I am all in." You know, where Luke recounted the story about the first time they met. And pulled out that horoscope. Sigh. If only. For me, I mean... if only.
....... Oh!
SORRY!!! I totally skipped out on the Kirk thing! I must agree that he is one odd looking bloke. But he did have some moves in that Kirk movie. I'm laughing - again - just thinking about it.

1. After they had their first break up. Emily told him to go back to her and she would not stand in their way. And it was the end of the show and she's watching the Judy Garland "A Star is Born" and there's a knock. And she goes to open up the door and Luke walks in and grabs her and kisses her. I don't know a girl alive who wouldn't want to be kissed like that!
2. I forget the reason why (was it when Richard was in the hospital), but Luke was watching Paul Anka. And she came home and found him feeding him or something. And then Luke explained that he had got into some baker's chocolate. So he drove all over trying to find a vet and the vet's were all closed so he went to the vet's house. And the vet told him what to do and so Luke even COOKED the dog some potatoes ('cause he needed something light). But for me (a huge dog lover), this was the sweetest thing that Luke could have ever done (okay, the ice rink was pretty dang cool--trying to get snow and Lorelai "back together"). But he is always portrayed as this stern and gruff and no-nonsense kind of guy and here he is cooking for a totally insane dog.
To me, that Lorelai could even consider anyone else after that is beyond my comprehension.
But back to Kirk...remember when he was put in charge of hiding the Easter eggs and there were 12 missing...and back to Luke...Luke found them all and gave them to Kirk so Taylor wouldn't yell at him. Gotta love them Stars Hollow boys!

I loved when, after the first time they broke up, Lorelai called him sobbing and saying how she missed him, her best friend, and she just really needed to see him. And he showed up. I think most guys, after a breakup like that, wouldn't do it. They'd probably just tell their friends how psycho their ex is.
I also liked the "I'm all in" line, Michele. I thought it was especially good because it made it clear that Luke wasn't about to play games with Lorelai. I think it is so stupid when adults play those hard-to-get, don't-show-him-how-much-I-like-him games. It's a waste of time to be with someone who doesn't want you as much as you want them.
One of my favorite Luke moments was before they even got together and Richard had his first heart attack and Luke kicked everyone out of the diner (after making her a Santa burger) and drove her to the hospital. And how he stayed there with her, even though hospitals freak him out. Hospitals freak me out, too, so I think I could understand what a sacrifice it was for him.
And I loved when Rory started dating Dean and Luke got all over-protective, and then how he gave Dean the cold shoulder after he and Rory broke up.

Hey Erica! We are neighbors :)
I just moved to NC (Raleigh) a few months ago.

Raleigh is great, where did you live Sarah? And Marlo, if you ever need to know anything about the area, ask! If I don't know, I can probably find out! It's not the most exciting area, but it is home. I love it.

Small like Stars Hollow, but not nearly as charming. And the crazy people weren't cute like Crazy Kirk.

If I found a town like Stars Hollow, I would definitely move there!

I really appreciate that!
Knightdale from what I hear is definitely up and coming. It's funny because I moved away from the Manhattan area to get some peace and quiet and it seems like this area is going to become the place to be in a few years lol!
Two things:
1) The Paris-Doyle thing was always so HILARIOUS. Now there is one quirky couple!
2) Luke is genuinely romantic. Gruff on the outside, softy on the inside... and fiercely loyal. Just wish I could find one.
Totally agree that Lorelai was being an idiot marrying Chris. Not because I had anything against Chris, but something as real as Luke happens, how can she so easily, so readily commit to going the distance with someone else??? I don't care how hurt she was nor how guilty she felt, that just didn't calculate.
And now back to our regularly scheduled Kirk programming...

Remember the living portraits ep? I loved that. DO they really do that in real life? I thought it was pretty ingeniuous. I thought it was hilarious that Kirk was in the Last Supper. It was just so "him".

Sarah, as far as I can tell, nothing too exciting in Wendell, but I am still trying to get up to date on this stuff! But really all towns outside of Raleigh are growing!
Marlo, that is funny, I used to live in Queens. Don't worry, it will never be like NY here, no all night Chinese joints, no 'good' pizza joints, altough from what I recall a few years ago, NY Pizza on Hillsborough was fairly close to the real thing. And practically all the restaurants are closed on Mondays! And as Sarah and I were discussing earlier, maybe on another thread, you can't get NC BBQ anywhere else. Have you tried it yet? If not, I can recommend some good places. You have to try it!

Classic Kirk moment:
Kirk: This is not how it's supposed to go. I'm supposed to take her out, we're supposed to exhaust my prepared subjects immediately, and then the minute I get up and go to the bathroom, she is supposed to sneak out and leave me here humiliated. Now I have been to the bathroom three times, and I have to tell you, I did not have to go, and every time I came back to the table, she was there and she was smiling, and... hey, did you see her touch my arm? What the hell was that all about?
Luke: I think that means she likes you.
Kirk: Shut up! You take that back!

Nekkid Kirk screaming holding two pillows over his "parts" running out of the dragonfly. Luke running after him.
Sigh. Kirk had some really good pairings! Kirk and Taylor (what was up with that? I secretly believe that Taylor was Kirk's real dad! lol But maybe Kirk looked to him as a father-figure because all he had was mom at home?) Kirk and Luke (total big brother relationship there). Kirk and Lorelai - Remember the marathon and Kirk was manning the illegally parked cars and wanted to start towing Lorelai while she was still in the car!

As for the living art thing, they really do that in Laguna Beach, California. It's called "Pageant of the Masters". I've always wanted to go.
Back to the "Bop-It"...Rory & Lorelai drug this game out when there was a lull in conversation at their parties...but didn't Max & Luke also play Bop-It, like Season 1?

But yeah, the Bop-It is for parties that need mouth-to-mouth.
