My two favorites are also Tyrion and Arya. I didn't start out liking the same people but when all was said and done they both rose to the top. I've heard at least one person say they are worried about the dark path Arya is going down but that's the exact reason I think she is in so many people's favorites.
Daenarys Targaryen is my favorite so far. I love the way her character just blossoms and blooms in the first book.
Tyrion, Jon, and Arya!
I like Stannis quite a bit, but Davos is my favorite. My least favorites are Daenerys, Khal Drogo, Shae, Ygritte, and Euron Greyjoy. I sorta like Cersei and Jaime, but mostly because they are the only interesting chapters in the fourth book.

Tyrion because despite everything taht is against him him can still smile about it and come out with a great one liner.
Jon Snow is kind of the wierd mix of hero/anti hero a bit emo/love sick puppy for the girls, he's has to prove alot to himself as much as he has to others and he's still fighting.
Arya your heart goes out to her just as she's getting to where she wants to be something get in the way, and she was so close but now has accepted what is and is getting on with it.
