I haven't began reading this series and have yet to find someone I know who has read the series but it looks like it's rated pretty well on the paranormal romance list.
Can anyone provide insight or give me a great recommendation for reading the series before I send the first book to my kindle? Or if anyone can tell me that I will waste time and money speak up? I would appreciate it. Thanks all!

If you're into paranormal romance, this series is a MUST!!!
Although, her style isn't as cheesy as other author's from this genre.
When I first picked up this series, I was actually quite taken back by how it varied from the others. Let me tell you why:
1) the characters are BAD ASS. and I’m not saying this b/c I'm being biased, truly they are. The feeling you get from them is just--wow.
2) the backdrop of the story is very unique [in its own way] [[believe me, I've read A LOT of PA books about Vamps and this one just blew my mind.]] of course, there are some clichés here and there, but they're ok.
3) sex scenes are well-written and there’s different types. I guess to accommodate different tastes . . .[?]
4) besides the story of the main characters, there's an underlying plot that stretches throughout the entire series.
I've read the entire series, and I'm impatiently waiting for the next one.
I think I've made my point. =]

If you enjoy the PNR genre this is an absolute must. I have loaned this series out to 16 people ranging in age from 19 - 70 (including 4 guys, 2 in their early 20's and two in their mid 40's) and every one of them absolutely loved the series. The odd thing is that what really makes this a stand out series are those things that often make a series flop. The "brothers" speak in a lingo that is part gangster, part old world, part current day (phrases like "You feel me?" and "true that") but this makes them different and somehow fits the characters. I haven't been able to figure out Ward combined old world warrior and family values with escalades, rap music and ganster speech successfully, but these guys are incredible! Every series I read is compared to this one.
This is a excellent series!! I have read all of the books that are out!! Be warned:::this series is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!!!!! Huge fan of the WARDen.....read read read it
(P.S.---my pic is Zsadist---favorite Brother)

Adore this series! You really "feel" the characters and experience their emotions as if you have known them your entire life. If you want to escape into another realm this series is the place to go.
Wonderful writing :)

Hi Erica, this is one of the best series out right now.
I read all of the books and it does have a couple of slow ones, Phury's being the worst. However, the characters are well developed and the plot is excellent! You will definitely enjoy this series!!
Hit click and download !!

hey,i'm fourteen. is it ok for me to read this? please answer! thanks
I really like the series, and I don't think her 'Ward-isms' are as fully developed in this one, which makes it easy to ease into the them in later books. My favorite books in the series are Zsadist's book (#3) and John Matthew's book (Lover Mine). The books take place in what I picture to be a mid-sized city that's fallen on hard times - there is an emphasis on portraying the guys as 'good' bad guys - there's a bit of label naming and esp. in the first one, a lot of naming of prominent hip hop albums/ I did not care so much for the latest one, which is Tohr's book - some plotlines are really starting to lag.
If it helps to compare my tastes to yours, I LOVE the Night Huntress series by Jeaneanie Frost and the Fever series by KMM (but not the Highlander series so much). I did not care for IAD, and Midnight Breeders was just 'meh' for me.

I sent a sample to my Kindle and it was enough to make me want more. I am now on book 6!
I had never read PNR before and if other series are as good as this one it will be my new fav genre :)
Erica I see you posted this question in January but still have not read the book, could we not convince you to try it, lol.

I absolutely LOVE this series!! Unique take on the whole vampire thing. Each book focuses on a different "brother" and if you're anything like me you'll end up falling in love with each one of them. Addictive!
I was looking for a new series to read and a friend brought me a bag with the entire series (her favorite).
That was 2 weeks ago and I am currently reading the fourth book. If you haven't started reading I say you give it a shot.

One of my all time favourites... The series is to die for and trust me you won't be dissapointed at all.
im in a book group on facebook and a few girls in it recommended this series to me and i fell in love with it!!!! it reminds me of the dark hunter books by sherrilyn kenyon they have some similar qualities but its def a must read both series for that matter lol
I really enjoyed the vampire lore in this series-the way they feed, their purpose for being involved in the "human world" etc.
Each book has its own flavor, but there are a few cross-book plot lines.
I say give the first book a try. If the love scenes are something you enjoy and the slang terminology mixed with the cringe worthy names of things (and characters) are something that you can tolerate, then you'll probably enjoy the rest of the series.
My friends and I call it "Vampire Porn" or "Vampire Crack" because it's easy to get sucked in until you're reading at 3am on a school night. I do NOT recommend these books for 14 year olds-sorry Nadiraalisha. Save it for Christmas Break in college!

The first book was strange at first, but good, and I quickly delved into the rest of the series, each book pulled me in deeper. I never cared for the "lesser" POV (except when there was a brother or a love interest directly involved). But even when a book fell short of my expectations, there was plenty of "brotherhood" interactions that kept me speeding along. I always like hearing from Vishous even when he's not the main character. And I was very suprised to be intrigued by non-brotherhood characters, like Rehvenge. I'd say definatley give the first a try, but I recommend holding in there until you get to the third. If you don't like it by the third, you're wasting your time.

I am not a total fan but I recently read most of them. All the guys in the brotherhood are sort of the same character but each has his own little twist. They are cheesy. So cheesy but I still liked the characters enough to read on. I think the first book was the best of them because you get sucked in to their world slowly. It is definitely worth checking the first one out at your local library to see if it is your style or not.
I really enjoyed "Dark Lover." The series is definitely addicting; when I first started the BDB series, had a hard time waiting for the next book to be published. But I love it when I discover a new author that I really like and who has already written a number of previous books. Lucky you!
I really liked the early books; the minute they were out, I snapped them up. Lately, I don't rush to read them because they're not as romance-based as they used to be. However, when I do finally get around to reading one, I can't put it down. Lately, the romance is so predictably the same, that it's actually the other plot points that keep me reading.

OK I'm prob gonna be attacked but I'm gonna be the first on here and say I didn't love it.
I think it really depends on you and what your into, the guys in this just weren't my cup of tea. I much preferred The Immortals after dark series by Kresley Cole or Lords of the underworld by Gena Showalter.
I have only read the first one and it was OK and if I see others in the series in the library and there's nothing else to get I'd prob pick it up, but I wouldn't spend my hard earned cash on it.

Oh Yeah, I started these books only a few months ago and I'm almost finished with book 8 now. I highly recommend them! However the love scenes are pretty racy. I wouldn't recommend them to readers under 18 without parent permission. Each book is basically focused on a certian charachter, but the others are not lost in the mix. Sher's a very good writer.
Hi Erica.....
i highly recommend this book!
I'm sure you will love the Brothers!

My English isn't very good, but i surely recommended this book, even i always skip all chapter about the lesser conversation!! hehe...
don't worry, you won't get disappoint

I love this series! Just a warning, the first book is the slowest (worst). The only other one that I didn't absolutely devour was Phury's book. I had a hard time getting through that one, simply because I didn't like where the story took him. I felt like his journey was out of character. Overall the series is fabulous! And HOT, HOT, HOT!!!!!!
Must read the series is brilliant. One of the first I read and would rate it at the top. You can't help but be pulled in by the story and characters!!!! Enjoy reading :)
this book was actually one of the very first books i ever read and it totally sucked me in , i would highly recommend it but as sara and nichola above said be ready to spend the whole next month reading the series !!! you just gotta love them , trust me you won't be wasting anything by reading them
It is a pretty good series but be aware that the genre changes from PNR to UF after the 4th book. There is still romance but it's not the main focus anymore. I didn't mind.
I started reading this series when I was still new to the paranormal genre and it's what completely sucked me in. Some of the books are challenging in their themes and characters but that is what makes paranormal fiction so interesting. Great series and as others have said be prepared to want the next and the next!
like a few of the other ladies ive read the entire series up to date and loved it, and would most definately recommend it but as sarah says above be prepared to spend the entire month reading as i couldnt stop once i had read the first one. so read on and hope you enjoy. :)
I've read the entire series and most of them are 4 stars. Go ahead and download book one but be prepared to spend the whole month reading the next 8 in the series. they're kind of addictive. Book ten is out in March, so get busy. :)
Hi Erica...I have read the first 2 books and about to start the third. I have never read a series like this before. Someone said it was like "Twilight" for adults and in some cases I have to agree. If you are looking for something to help you escape life...its perfect. It certainly won't win any awards! LOL. But I enjoy not only the romance part but the Vampire/ Brotherhood Family that is apparent throughout the series. It took me a little bit to get into Dark Lover but once I did, I was pleasantly suprised. At least give the first book a try!!! Oh and be prepared for the "sex" scenes..quite entertaining! :)
Peace,
Sheryl

This series is completely unputdownable, and definitely worth reading (not to mention rereading!). I thought Dark Lover was absolutely great, but the best thing is that the next books in the series are even more fantastic. I thought they were actually better than Dark Lover.
What I especially love about this series is how the Brothers are almost like one big family; I just love Butch and Vishous together! They are so funny :) You definitely have something to look forward to if you read this series.
