Leslie I liked the book overall although it wasn't always engaging. I like the idea of comparing their lives since they were contemporaries. I gained new respect for Joni Mitchell, was a little disappointed to read how long Carole King became a recluse, and appreciated Carly Simon's struggles. None of the men portrayed were particularly positive forces but that may have reflected their times more than anything.

Jeff Tucker I thought this was a great book. It had some interesting insights to lives of the women who wrote some of the songs I grew up with. I agree that it was a little slow in places but all in all it was a fun and interesting book.
