Well they change a lot of things whentheymade it a show, Elena's hair is supposed to be like gold, and bonnie is supposed to be a short, pale, redhead!!! it makes me really made when they do this because they do it all the time!!! even with other shows!!! like the secret circle by L. J. Smith, there were origanally a lot more people in the circlethan 6
I agree. Although I like Nina Dobrev, I was still bummed when I heard a brunette was playing Elena. I miss Meredith too! Instead they have given Meredith's personality to Bonnie. Bonnie was supposed to be a frail red head with a doll-like personality. Don't get me wrong, I like the current Bonnie too, but I was kinda looking forward to the characters I had visualized in my dead come to life on the screen.
yeah but im so contradictory becuase 4 the shows amazing but they didnt follow any thing at all,
I know right but where is all the fantasy but the show is awesome and clause's sister never showed in the book only the foxes are twins but i don't think they would show them either.
in the book meredith is elena's little sister, in the show they changed it so Jeremy plays the younger sibling. A boy instead of a girl
no in the book Meredith is her friend her sister has another name with m im looking it up right now
I wish they would make a movie and do it right.

When turning the book to the tv show, I think they wanted to keep the central theme & idea of the stories. Many of the characters aren't really necessary to the plot. Meredith, as she is in the book, was one of them. There are many interviews with the producers and creators of the show. here is one of them:

omg!! Meredith is in the show, I couldn't believe it since only a couple of hours ago I read a comment saying she will be in the show but it was way back in 2010!
Meredith was on the show last night. She plays a nurse, and is interested in Alaric's healing abilities. I think it's cool that they're including her and Ric's relationship like in the books. Too bad she's played by Paul Wesley's (Stefan) wife...

I really think that if they brought meredith in the show, she should have been best friends with them all along. But they know what they are doing b/c I love the show even though Bonnie is a witch not a Druid w/ red hair. And I really love Caroline here, but hated her in the book.
@ Angela-Same. @Sabzzy-No haven't gotten the new books...but my b-day is coming up...what do you guys think of what they're doing with Klaus? I love his character (plus, Stephan Morgan's gorgeous!) and am happier that they're keeping him around. SO glad Jere's gone...he got kind of lost in the plot after a while..
oh i know and he wasn't even in the book, he kinda got lost i transition whens your birthday and wats the age you dont have to answer the last part i can see how that could be creepy
March 27th and 14. It is creepy, but so far, I've been talking to peepz the same age, and I go to school with them all, so...it's not that weird.
