Name: Hunter Ashford
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Personality: Can be cold and aloof to people he doesn't like, but a generally warm guy. Playful and witty, he likes a good laugh and is a trustworthy person all around. He believes in second chances, but on the third strike, you're out.
Bio/History: The Ashfords are close friends with the Hastons, thought not as wealthy. Hunter and Ammy used to be best friends as kids, but when they reached high school, they started to grow apart, so much so that they can hardly stand each other's presence now. He was hired as a bodyguard for Ammy's parents, among others, and he takes his job very seriously.
Others: He thinks Ammy is a spoiled rich "princess" but he likes her dad. Skilled in handling weaponry and hand-on-hand combat. One of the best fighters around, which is why he was hand-picked by Mr Hashton, coupling with the fact that he trusts him.

AmiraAs the lunch bell rang and I walked to my locker, I noticed a familiar figure walking into the school. My eyes widened when I saw it was my father. "Dad? What are you doing here?" Dad walked over to me and took my arm, leading me across the hall. "I can't stand it anymore, princess," I heard him say. "I want you protected. I know just the guy who can do that." Confused, I followed him anyway, but started to panic as he led me to the boy that I was never planning to run into today. Crap. Hunter Ashford.

I rumbled through the mess in my locker, dumping my History textbook into it with slight impatience. I had gotten on Mr Danton's bad side and got held back after the lesson, and let's just say my day couldn't get any worse. Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted two figures heading directly for me, both familiar, and when I looked up, it was--low and behold--none other than the Ice Princess and her dad. Well, well. To what did I owe this pleasure? I cleared my throat and focused my eyes on the tall man standing beside my schoolmate, who also happened to be my boss, "Mr Haston. Is something wrong, sir?" It only occurred to me then that something could've happened at home. Was his wife alright?

AmiraI looked at anything but the boy standing in front of me. Mr. Rugged and Mysterious has been nothing but a jackass to me all year, and of course, when people be a bitch to me, I immediately be a bitch to them back. Simple. "Hunter!" My dad walked over to him and patted his shoulder. "I have a new job for you. I'd like you to be a bodyguard for Ammy here." Oh... What did he just say? "No way!" I blurted out, my face flushing red as I glared at my dad, but he barely even noticed me.

Obviously, my day did just took a turn for the worst. My mouth all but dropped open, but I quickly snapped it closed before I looked too much of an idiot. He couldn't have said what I thought he'd just said, but the Princess's outburst only just confirmed my fear. "But sir," I struggled out, trying to wriggle my way out of this. I couldn't babysit for her, anyone but her, I'll even take their dog! Dear Lord, what had I done to deserve this?! "What about you and your wife?" It was clear from the look on Amira's face that she was on my side on this, or against it..or whichever side that disagreed with her dad's decision.

AmiraDad smiled at him, making me sick to my stomach. "We have bodyguards of our own. Since you're here at the same school with her, I figured she should become your priority. I really should have thought this sooner!" He sounded proud, and it made me even more sick. I didn't even bother to say anything though. When Dad sets his mind on something, he never changes it. One thing I really hated about him. I saw Dad lean in to whisper something into his ear.

I could feel the blood drain out of my face, or maybe that was the way the Princess was glaring at my direction. Mr Hashton leaned into me, "Make sure you keep a good eye on my girl. At least you two get to spend more quality time together." I didn't have the spirit to break the news to him that his daughter didn't even like me, much less want to spend 'quality time' with me. I just gave the man a stiff nod and managed a wobbly--but still convincing--smile at him as he pulled away, winking.

AmiraHe even winked at him. God, it took all my power not to barf all over his perfectly polished shoes right then and there. He turned to me with a kind, fatherly smile and brushed my cheek. "This is for the best, princess. I don't want you hurt again." The look of sorrow in his eyes made me soften just a little bit. "Alright, Dad, fine." I sighed. I decided that I'd do this. For him. He hugged me and kissed my cheek, and then walked back to the main school doors, leaving me alone with Dicky McAsswipe.

I furrowed my eyebrows at Mr Hashton's words after he left. He just had to bring that up. What had happened to Amira was almost three years ago, and it had even scarred me a little. But I thought he'd have gotten over it, he sure acted like it for the past few years. "So..." I dragged the word out, noticing how the earlier crowd of students had thinned out along the corridors. I glanced down at my watch, everyone would be in the cafeteria now, "Head to the cafe?" As her bodyguard, I had to walk her to and from classes now, and I'd most likely have to sit with her during lunchtimes. Talk about torture, and I doubt she liked it any more than I did. I shut my locker door and leaned a shoulder against it.

AmiraI sighed and raised my eyebrows once to say "yes" without actually speaking. I never actually hated this guy. We were friends once. He just started to go cold one day...for no apparent reason. I shouldn't care, though. This year he'd always been just a cocky player to me. I turned and walked to the cafeteria, to my table where my friends were waiting. Would he have to sit with me, too? Oh God...
Hunter
I stifled a heavy sigh at her cool attitude and pushed off the metal locker before reluctantly following her to the cafeteria. I forced myself to look ahead, but my eyes--damn my good vision--strayed back to Amira, and I couldn't help but stare a little at the way she sauntered over to her table, an arrogant swing in her hips, her head held high. Damn, that girl knew how to distract a person. I caught my friend's eye as I passed my usual table and grimaced, stopping by for a quick word on how I couldn't join them today.

AmiraMy friends were all gawking at me. Perfect. Before they could say anything, I immediately placed my hands on the table and said, "Relax. It's just this dumb thing my dad wants him to do. He wants Hunter to be my 'bodyguard', apparently, cause of what happened...that night." All three girls nodded gloomily at the mention of that night, which still sent shivers down my spine. "He'll be sitting with us," I said, and their heads immediately shot up. "Merely a work thing, don't worry," I added quickly. But then they started to giggle in that girly, crushing-on-the-hottest-boy-in-school way, and I groaned. "He is really hot though, Am. You're lucky as hell," Della said, grinning at me. I narrowed my eyes at her and turned to get my food. The line had mostly cleared, since most students were already at their tables by now. A lot of them greeted me, and I waved back.
Hunter
"Dude, trade with me. I beg of you." Nicky whined as I told him the story. "Wish I could, man. Really did." I scoffed as a goodbye, then moved away and looked over to where Amira had headed to grab her food. I had grabbed an apple from Quince's tray and tossed it up in the air now as I watched the Princess pick her lunch. The apple landed nicely in the palm of my hand and I flicked it up again, hardly aware that I was doing it, my full attention on the girl I was supposed to watch. As much as I hated it, I took my job seriously, and if I was assigned to watch over my boss's daughter, then so be it. I'll do my job. I started walking over to the table full of her friends, my eyes still focused on her at the counter now, paying for her food.

AmiraYou can never go wrong with a tuna sandwich. I paid for it and walked back to my table, where Hunter was already there. Sheri, one of my friends, started to flirt with him, and I rolled my eyes. The look he gave her confirmed that he was flirting back. Of course. That was his player nature, to flirt with anything that was breathing and had boobs. Except me, apparently, which I should be glad about. I sat down next to Della, placing my tray down on the table.

"Ladies" I greeted the table of girls with my signature crooked grin and was awarded with a round of giggles. Knowing I'd gotten them on my side, I eased up a bit as one girl scooted over to make space for me, but I shook my head, gesturing to where the Princess was already approaching. One girl, Sheri, I think her name was, seemed bold enough to strike up a conversation with me and started firing questions of what I was doing with Amira. Heck, she even did it with a cocky grin, which I admired. I answered it all, just as smoothly, and with a confident smirk of my own to match. Just as her Highness arrived and sat herself down, I shifted over, grabbed a chair to swing it around and plopped myself down beside her, squeezing in.

AmiraHis nearness kind of unsettled me, but he did smell good, I guess. Ugh, I can't believe I paid attention to that. Sheri and Naya, my two other friends, started to burst into a fit of chatter with him, and I sighed, but at least Della was always with me. She was my closest friend out of the three. "So, how's it goin'?" she asked me in her usual carefree tone, and I couldn't help but smile, glad that at least she still acknowledged my existence despite the testosterone attack at our table. "Alright, I guess." I dug into my bag and got out the copy of Shatter Me out, giving it to her. "As promised," I said to her with a grin as she took the book. "You're the best, Am," she replied as she put the book into her bag. I started to eat, but Sheri's and Naya's giggles annoyed me badly.

I kept up with the questions easily, keeping one eye on Amira as I munched on Quince's, or rather, my apple. She seemed fidgety, couldn't be because I was here, could it? I kept half an eye out around the cafeteria too, taking in as much as I can without being obvious to it. That had been part of my training, to see everything and miss nothing. I held back a sigh, lunchtime had been peaceful for me, no scratch that, school used to be peaceful for me, a time where I could loosen up and not worry about anything. Now, all of that was taken away, and I could thank the girl sitting on my right for that.

AmiraDella and I chatted about random things, but I found my eyes constantly going to Hunter for some odd reason. It's like I wasn't able to control my own eyes. They just kept steering themselves back to him everytime I looked away. Della didn't seem to notice though. If she did, she didn't say. The giggle fits of Sheri and Naya became louder and more desperate sounding, and I suddenly rethought why I was ever friends with those two. They were nowhere near as kind and caring to me as Della was. Della was like the sister I never had.
Hunter
I could feel her stare on me. Time and time again, although I couldn't tell if it was out of curiosity, or just her usual glare. I wagered the latter. Still, it unsettled me a little. Was I doing something wrong? From what I could tell, I was being a perfect gentleman to the rest of her friends. I mean, I kept my hands to myself and didn't let them stray or anything. Jeez, you could never please her. She was talking in whispers with the girl next to her, a pretty redhead who seemed satisfied being quiet. I finished my apple, and promptly started to play with the core, twirling it around on the table. It seemed to amaze the rest of the girls, which amused me, I mean really, who knew playing with the remains of an eaten apple would draw so much attention?

AmiraI rolled my eyes at the girls across from me, and the guy next to me. I was so glad that the bell rang just then, and without a word I slung my bag over my shoulder and headed for the cafeteria doors arm in arm with Della. Sheri and Naya would probably want to hang onto Hunter's arms, so I let them. I was so glad Della and I had the next class together, but Mr. Bodyguard just happened to have the same class. Perfect.
Hunter
I pushed my chair back to follow her highness out the cafeteria, bidding the rest of the girls goodbye with an imaginary salute, earning myself delighted giggles which brought a grin to my face. Well, at least someone else liked me. I kept a good distance behind Amira, judging from the stiff way she held herself, I guessed she figured we had the same class next; Ancient History. I shoved my hands into my jeans pockets and followed her to her locker, her head bent close to the her friend's as they whispered amongst themselves.

AmiraI started to giggle at stuff Della and I were talking about, and my giggles soon turned to clutch-your-stomach laughter, making me linger on the lockers longer. "Stop it," I said between giggles. "I know, I know," Della said with a mischievous grin, recovering from a laugh attack of her own. "But come on! She has the best lines in the whole show! Like that part where she─" I stopped her. "I know! Don't repeat it, I'm dying here." I giggle and grab my books, closing my locker, and then loop my one free arm around Della's again. I almost forgot that Hunter was close behind us.

Either the apple I stole from Quince had been drugged, or my mental state of mind needed questioning. As Amira and her friend laughed up ahead, I was inching my way closer, finding myself--of all things--drawn to the Princess's laughter. I vaguely realised how much of a stalker I looked as I stared towards her, the way her eyes lit up, and how carefree her laugh sounded. She didn't hold back, and that, surprisingly, was what I found myself interested in. Other girls tried to cover up their laughs, almost as if they were embarrassed by it, but not Amira. She wasn't afraid to let go. I leaned a shoulder against the lockers to my side and watched them silently.

Amira"Oh my God! Stop it!" Della would not stop, and I laughed so hard that I started clutching my stomach. "Okay okay!" Della was clutching hers too, and then she wiped a single tear with her hand. We still giggled softly all the way to class, and I took my regular seat near her. Hunter sat right behind me, and then from the door, entered Serena Reynolds, queen of bitchville, cheerleader extraordinaire. I scowled at her, and went back to Della. I've heard once that Serena was Hunter's ex. Hell, maybe they were still together. Whatever. I wasn't supposed to give a crap.
((muah, im GR-deprived T.T))
Hunter
I took my seat behind Amira, still listening in on their laughs. I hardly noticed Serena saunter into the room, but out of the corner of my eye I saw her tense, and her head swivelled around the room before landing in my direction. Stifling a sigh, I kept my eyes on the girl in front of me and ignored my ex. If Amira was an ice Princess, Serena would be Queen Bee, making the earlier pale in comparison to her cruel ways. Serena took a step towards where I sat, but just then Mr Hornsbill entered the classroom and called for the rest of us to take our seats. Phew. Saved for now.

((Please tell me you'll be back soon. :c))Amira
I felt a twinge of satisfaction as Serena moved away from Hunter. What I hated about her the most was that she got popular by acting like a bitch, while I got popular because I actually socialize and be nice. Maybe my heritage sort of pitched in, but I don't like to think of it that way. I like to think that people liked me for me. I sighed and tried to follow the lesson, but ended up passing notes with Della.
((I'm just got back! And Happy New Year Fauzy!! :D:D))
Hunter
I hate being distracted, but funnily enough, I didn't mind this time round when the Princess kept passing notes with her friend, instead finding myself strangely curious about what they were talking about. Good thing I excelled at multitasking, cuz it looked like Mr Hornsbill was going to call out for someone to answer a question, and his eyes swept over to my direction. Don't pick me. Don't pick me. Don't pick me. I might know the answer, but I hated being singled out for anything that had nothing to do with martial arts or security-related things.

((Yay!! Bad news tho, I might be on less. :c Out of town right now and my dad's iPad's battery runs out really fast -.-))Amira
I was glad that Mr. Hornsbill ignored me the whole class. Hell, most teachers are like that with me. Before I knew it, class ended, and Della's next class wasn't with me. I hugged her at my locker and did our secret handshake that we created back when we were in kindergarten. We still did it because it became tradition to do it whenever we had to part ways. "Love ya, Am," she said before walking to her class, giving Hunter a somewhat formal nod. I turned to him. "So I guess we have the same class again, huh."
((No worries, I gtg soon anyway, late and can hardly keep my eyes open -.-))
Hunter
I trailed after Amira and Della, and leaned back against the wall as they said goodbye and separated. When she turned to me, I stifled a sigh, noting how her cold mask had slid back on again. So that was how she was going to play it, huh? Fine. I shrugged, "If I'm shadowing you, I'll need to have my schedule changed to match yours." I could go now to get my new class timetable, but then I'd have to drag Princess along, and she wouldn't like that. Bah. I'll go after school ended. The teachers here knew what I did and a simple explanation would be enough to satisfy them, they had no choice but to deal.

AmiraI shrugged and put my books into my locker and went straight to my next class: art. It was my most favorite class. I loved it even more today because Ms. Burton said it was a free-draw day, which meant we could just sketch or paint whatever we want. I took my usual seat and opened my drawing book, deciding to continue drawing the chibi anime versions of the characters from my favorite series, Iron Fey. I'd already drawn Meghan and Ash, and was about to start drawing Puck. I pictured him in my mind for a moment, nodded to myself, and got to work.
((Iron Fey<3<3))
Hunter
I'd walked over to the front of the classroom and explained my situation to Ms Burton, who just gave a nod and told me to grab a seat and sit by my charge. I was even free to join in if I wanted to. I nearly snorted at that, I could hardly draw without stabbing myself with the pencil. I headed over to where the Princess sat and hefted a chair over to sit by her, not too close, but not too far either. I folded my arms and leaned back to take in the rest of the class as they trickled in.
((gtg Fauzy D: i'll try to get on tomz, nitey nitey babez! >.<))

((Holy crap @_@ You posted the same thing 6 times. And ok. :c night Mishy~))Amira
I made sure to put attention to every detail as I drew on. After I finished Puck, I started drawing Grimalkin. And then I drew Glitch, which was a lot of fun. I also took my time coloring, making sure everything was perfect. Sometimes I had to stop due to loss of concentration though, because I felt someone's gaze on me, sending prickles down my back.
((lol, I thought GR was stuffing up on me, and my mum was rushing me to get off so I spazzed when it refused to load up nicely xD))
Hunter
As I watched Amira draw, I couldn't help but get enraptured into her final pieces. The way she moved the pencil in her lithe hand and manoeuvred the sketch pad around held me spellbound. I found my eyes straying to her hands though, and lost myself to wondering what they would feel like. Would they be as soft as they looked? Graceful and knowing? I imagined those fingers running through my hair and felt the weirdest shiver go through me.

I imagined those fingers running through my hair and felt the weirdest shiver go through me.
AmiraThe bell rang just as I'd finished coloring Ariella. The rest of the day went by boringly, until it was time to go home. I asked Della to come over, but she said she couldn't. We did our secret handshake and parted ways. Hunter followed behind as I made my way to my car. I looked at my phone to see a text from Dad, saying: Hunter will be staying in our house from now on. He'll be staying at the guest room on your floor. "WHAT?!" I shouted out, frozen in place in front of my convertible.
((gah, caught me at a bad time, gg for dinner now >.< bbl!!))
Hunter
The bell woke me up from my daze, and I got one last glimpse of Amira's last drawing before she snapped the book shut. As class ended and we headed out to her car, the Princess let out a yell. I immediately shifted into a fighting position and my eyes darted about the carpark, scanning for any danger as I moved in front of her. "What? What's wrong?" I asked her, wondering what it was that freaked her out so badly. I didn't seem to see anything, though, and I relaxed a bit, but kept my stance.

((:c I wish I came on sooner.))Amira
I gave him my phone so he could read the text. I climbed onto the driver's seat. No way was I letting him drive my baby. I started the car and waited for him to get in. I also waited for him to freak out and start cursing at Dad's text.
((*huggles* back))
Hunter
I wasn't surprised when I read the text from Amira's dad, just sighed and handed the phone back to her silently. I eyed her car, "I'll drive in front of you. Wait for me to bring my bike over." Then I whirled around and went to get Hanna parked at the other end of the carpark, revving her engine up and drove her over in under thirty seconds flat.

((I have to brb though x_x CRAP))Amira
I shrugged and drove in front of him instead. We were home in several minutes. I parked my car and went inside, past the foyer and to the sitting room, where my mom was. My heart shattered everytime I saw her. She just gets more and more sick. "Hi, Mom," I said, giving her a smile and kissing her cheek. "Hi sweetie," she replied, her voice cracking. She had a coughing fit, and I rubbed her back. "Just let it all out, Mom. It's okay."

((nvm, I'll probs be on for a while, maybe))
Hunter
I gritted my teeth the whole drive back to her place, I'd tried overtaking her a couple of times but she just blocked me, so I was pretty much in a foul and unsteady mood by the time we arrived. My bad mood dissipated, though, when I headed inside and heard the distinct cough of Mrs Hashton come from the small lounge room she was usually in. I waited around the corner for a while, not wanting to barge in.

((Okay back))Amira
Mom looked over my shoulder. "Hunter, come here, darling. It's alright." She started coughing again, making me wince. "Shh, Mom... You don't have to talk." I kissed her forehead. I had no idea why her condition wasn't getting any better. It was practically doing the opposite.

Hunter
With a soft smile I entered the room, "Hello, Mrs Hashton." I greeted the woman sitting on the loveseat and looking like she was about to fall over any second. But her beauty still shone out through the shine in her eyes and the sweetness of her smile, making me feel welcomed at once. I had my hands stuffed in my jeans pocket and the look I wore was a sheepish one. She tended to do that to me, whenever I was around Amira's mum, it made me feel like a kid again, the good kind of feeling, not the bad one.

AmiraShe gave Hunter a motherly smile before turning it to me. "How was school, dear?" "It was great," I replied with a smile. It wasn't exactly great, but I didn't have the heart to tell her otherwise. Anita, our maid, walked in. She had been around since I was a baby, and her quesadillas were to die for. She had always been like an aunt to me. She placed a tray on the table next to Mom. On the tray was a cup of warm tea and Mom's medicine. "Thanks, Anita," I said to her. She gave us a nod and walked back out of the room. I turned to Mom and brushed her cheek softly. "You should take your meds, Mom. I'm sure you'll get better." I kissed her forehead and muttered "Love you" before I walked out of the room and toward the stairs.
Hunter
I stuck around after Amira left, leaning back against the wall as my eyes trailed after her as she exited the room. Strangely enough, I couldn't unglue them from her. I gave my head a little shake before turning back around to look at Mrs Hashton, hoping she didn't catch that. "I know you always hate when I ask this, but how're you feeling, Mrs H?"
