actually, the only rated R movie I've ever seen is "Pan's Labyrinth" and it was REALLY good...kinda creepy, and a little bloody, but AMAZING PLOTLINE!!!

the movie aliens is a good horror movie, but i think it's from the 80s

message 64: by [deleted user] (new)

This is quite urgent. I have to write a short story on mystery for my creative writing class and I need the rough draft in soon, problem is that I never read mysteries and I have no idea what to do. Help!

Michael Dolan | 1272 comments Mod
uhmmmm... is it a horror mystery?

message 66: by [deleted user] (new)

It can be anything really... ugh, my feet are killing me. Waaaayy too much dancing.

message 67: by Maralune (new)

Maralune | 1144 comments Mod
oooh I love dancing!!! well my suggestion if you are writing something that you don't know about. Read those stories!!

Michael Dolan | 1272 comments Mod
yeah. i guess i can't really contribute too much... make the characters multidimensional. and i personally would recommend a slow, dramatic buildup (for example, if you've seen the movie aliens) where the protagonist(s) slowly figure out what they're in for.

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

hmmm.... alright, what else can I do plotwise? I need some crime to be committed.

message 70: by Michael, Illustrator. (Seriously, I'm happy to do commissions.) (new)

Michael Dolan | 1272 comments Mod
i think a murder is always dramatic... or a theft. but i would do something with a serial killer. they're creepy. however, you could do a lot. the theft of a family heirloom, and then a family member killing the thief might be good...

message 71: by Maralune (new)

Maralune | 1144 comments Mod
I think all of those suggestions are good. You could always have theft. Its very fun and entertaining. Good luck!!

message 72: by Michael, Illustrator. (Seriously, I'm happy to do commissions.) (new)

Michael Dolan | 1272 comments Mod
or a bunch of people who all want the same heirloom and keep stealing it from each other...

message 73: by [deleted user] (new)

A comical mystery! It's perfect!

message 74: by Michael, Illustrator. (Seriously, I'm happy to do commissions.) (new)

Michael Dolan | 1272 comments Mod
awesome. lol, now i want to read it...

Michael Dolan | 1272 comments Mod
woot. this new roleplay has potential. any ideas where it should lead?

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

eh... we'll figure out something.

message 78: by Michael, Illustrator. (Seriously, I'm happy to do commissions.) (new)

Michael Dolan | 1272 comments Mod
hmm... i miss the sort of epic feel the first story had.

message 79: by [deleted user] (new)

Me too... I'm tempted to redo that one... hm...

message 80: by Michael, Illustrator. (Seriously, I'm happy to do commissions.) (new)

Michael Dolan | 1272 comments Mod
if you want, i'll help. however, i think as it was, the story had just collapsed. like a good series gone way too long, lol. but i think we should try to recreate the feel it had. i miss rayana. stephen was fun. uh... yeah. i think that our current stories, good as they are, aren't nearly that... good. maybe they need time to develop.

message 81: by [deleted user] (new)

hahaha!! Don't worry Lindsay, we stopped on that rp anyhow... we decided to stop on that one, at least for a while. 'Sides, I don't think any of us remember the whole rp...

message 82: by [deleted user] (new)

We had a lot more roleplayers back then, but they all left and we lost some major antagonists. So we decided to end it.

message 83: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, I've been changing it every now and then just for kicks.

message 84: by Michael, Illustrator. (Seriously, I'm happy to do commissions.) (new)

Michael Dolan | 1272 comments Mod
yeah... i kind of like this (and our original one) more than our most recent one... buahah. thank you kataury. >:D

message 85: by [deleted user] (new)

GAH! Stupid! Grrr! I've been trying to change the groups photo and have been having a frustrating time... stupid linux. As much as I love working with you... you also frustrate me so.... sooooo.... muchly!!
Anyway, sorry I haven't been posting often folks, not much activity going on with me. Lots to do little time to do it etc. anyways... I'll figure out how to keep the group alive, perhaps we need to start a new rp and invite some vic- sorry, friends, to the group. Do keep in mind that this group is run by a very picky moderator and would like there to be a little more ingenuity to our guests than your average... people/humans/bothersome teenage roleplayers that can't even write let alone even think an original thought in their tiny heads. Anyways, that's all I can say for now since I'm going to be busy for a while, farewell till then.

K.

Good luck Kataury, hope you're back soon. I'm sure we'll manage; We're smart people, and it can't be that hard to... well, it can be that hard, but not always so to keep a story alive, or create new ones. Let's see how it develops.

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay, I am now back and came with ready materials for new rps. Speaking of which we should probably start on that new one that was made. Maybe we should also retry on the dark fantasy rp. I think we just stumbled into a pitfall, but it could be a good rp, We just need the right circumstances for a plot to hit us.

message 88: by Michael, Illustrator. (Seriously, I'm happy to do commissions.) (new)

Michael Dolan | 1272 comments Mod
Good to have you back. I wasn't aware that we had a new rp. Sounds cool, though. Yeah, we can probably resurrect dark fantasy.

message 89: by [deleted user] (new)

BAHAHA!!! I win. Linux thought it could beat me! you may call me the programmer fantastique.

message 90: by Arianwyhn (new)

Arianwyhn | 165 comments We have a new RP? O.O and... *grins* the programmer fantastique...

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

New rp? I just renamed some stuff and organized our folders and files finally.

message 92: by Arianwyhn (new)

Arianwyhn | 165 comments I saw that. The Demon wars is a fitting name! ^.^

;_; Sry if it seems like I just kinda took the reigns.... Didn't mean to do that.
The awesomeness of the Roleplay kinda eated my soul.

Do we have a direction for the plotline in our primary story? Just wondering. I enjoy improvising in general, though.

Post 100
anyway, I'm thinking about it, I'm trying to think about how we're going to go about this. They're going to close the gate, since right now their main threat is the demon hordes pouring through. then after they finally accomplish that, there will still be the armies that are left, which will be a problem of itself. Then they'll have to deal with the political situations in the south (that'll also take a lot of names that we'll need to come up with and remember) and after they amass an army they go against the combined forces of about... five demon lords (? eh, threw that one out there) Who search for the descendants of King Spire, the creator of the gate, because they are the only ones that can open the Spiral gate. (Why it's a spiral gate, I've never really thought about) With the gate opening thing we'll also need to figure out a certain character thing there, whether new, or already made doesn't matter.

I'm working on the rest right now, they're still in draft mode, but I'm figuring it out.

message 95: by [deleted user] (new)

I reread that and realized it didn't make much sense. Okay, so, here's how it's possibly going to go... ?

1. They seek to close the gate (and get Morrowen her demon book of course)
2. Amass an army in the South that is strong enough to go against the remaining hordes of demons, led by five powerful demon lords.
3. As this is going on, the demon lords are seeking a way to reopen the gate, this can only be done by a descendant of the creator of the gate, King Spire.

That's all I got at the moment, but that makes a lot more sense then my previous post.

message 96: by Michael, Illustrator. (Seriously, I'm happy to do commissions.) (new)

Michael Dolan | 1272 comments Mod
How about all three? To close the gate, we would need enough manpower to keep the hordes of approaching demons off of us while we work to retrieve Morrowen's book which contains the sole knowledge that we need to banish the five demon lords and close the gate? Just a thought.

message 97: by [deleted user] (new)

That would work, that'd be a lot more convenient too, so should they find the gate first and then head back to the southlands or head back to the southlands first and amass an army?

message 98: by Michael, Illustrator. (Seriously, I'm happy to do commissions.) (new)

Michael Dolan | 1272 comments Mod
I'm under the impression the characters don't know about the demon lords or the full difficulty in sealing the gate. I think they should try it, but it could also be inconvenient. So I'm open to whichever. Do you have a strong opinion either way? Or a moderate one. Lol.

message 99: by [deleted user] (new)

Hm... so many options, what do our other members think?

message 100: by [deleted user] (new)

Hm... I've noticed recently that we have a lot of 'D' roleplays... how dull. Any new ideas people? It's been almost a year since I've had a roleplay that I come to where there's eighty five posts for me to read, so let's try something that can get fast paced exciting.
