Linda Here I will start my personal reading goal for the year 2009. Ultimately I would like to see myself read at least 25 books (about 2 per month), and I will add to the list as I decide on them. These are listed in no particular order. Since I'm teaching an American Lit. class this year, I am trying to read some of those works I haven't yet had a chance to.

1. Catcher in the Rye
2. A Farewell to Arms
3. Slaughterhouse Five
4. Life of Pi
5. Malcolm X
6. Cannery Row
7. 1984
8. Don Quixote
9. The Joy Luck Club
10. A Clockwork Orange
11. The Time Traveler's Wife
12. Seize the Day
13. Light in August
14. In Cold Blood
15. Sister Carrie
16. Saturday
17. The Nine Taylors
18. The Picture of Dorian Gray

Also, every year I read one by Jane Austen and one by Dickens; this year's selections will be:
Persuasion (again)
Dombey and Sons

Linda This was an ambitious goal for me and since I have joined another challenge I don't know if I'll be able to keep this up. We'll see what happens...

Okay that is more than 25 books, and I think I may be over my head! I withdrew Sister Carrie, and probably won't get to Don Quixote either.
