Yeah, mostly ads are annoying. But every now and then, they're more entertaining than the program you're watching.

Richard Is next: Wendy's commercial. Very nice!

And I think you'll agree that this Xerox ad is simply miraculous:

Wow! I haven't seen either of those in years. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

True. I remembered the beauty contest years later, even though I forgot it was a Wendy's commercial!

Ah, who could ever forget the gerbil cannon?

Lisa (lisabracken) | 10 comments I love the wolf riding in the backseat in the Jeep commerical - of course, I had a German Shepherd just like that.

I've like the two lovable dorks in the Sonic ads, but I think Sonic needs to broaden the community a little. The one guy who is alwasy driving should take his Shepherd to Sonic one day... like I used to do.

Dog sitting in the passenger side... watching the road go by... not so much wondering why there is still a place with chickens in the yard across from a Walmart, and more casually wondering how he could jump out and get one while still speeding down the feeder road.

The dog - like mine used to do - could then turn to his companion and say, "Are we there yet?"

And the guy - like me, could go, "No."

The dog would resume his contemplation of the road ahead... wait two seconds, turn and say, "Are we there yet?"

Again, the guy would say. "No."

Finally, they could pull into the drive-up lane. The guy places their order at the mechanized menu and they advance to the pick-up window. (Dog still casually observing the ordering proceedure... traffic going by... birds hoping around in the parking lot.)

They wait at the window where there is a brief delay as two workers work out their mild confusion over the absence of fries.

The dog asks, "You remembered to hold the pickles, right?"

The guy just looks at him as he's fishing out his wallet.

The dog comments: "I hate pickles".

Dog: "Did you get the extra cheese?"

Man: sigh...

I suppose a good ending could be the back of the compact car driving away onto the highway and, soon after, a burger wrapper sailing out of the passenger side window, whereby, the car would suddenly slow, ease off the shoulder, hit reverse and fade out.

L.T. Fawkes (ltfawkes) | 18 comments Very funny stuff, Lisa. I love the relationship. I think you've got the seed of a very funny novel.

L.T. Fawkes (ltfawkes) | 18 comments "The Mayhem Guy" played with demonic glee by Dean Winters - Allstate commercials. Google "The Mayhem Guy" and you can see the videos. Hilarious.

I always liked watching Dean Winters play Liz Lemon's obnoxious boyfriend on "30 Rock". I also liked him as Denis Leary's obnoxious brother on "Rescue Me". It's pretty hard to out-obnoxious Leary, but Winters managed.

I stumbled across this amusing advert the other day.

That was great! Now I want a Border Collie. Or a Guinness.

Great story, Lance. But I thought there was supposed to be a pig in it somewhere....

I think Babe had a fateful encounter with Jimmy Dean.

I can't move my face, and you can LOOK JUST LIKE ME:

I'm pretty sure the boobs aren't real, either.

Richard This ad is not only Aud-acious, it's Spock-tacular:

Advertising poop-related merchandise is always difficult. How do you sell the public on something they don't like to talk about? The answer? A Pooping Unicorn!

I'll never eat soft-serve again.

I like the sleeping medication commercials that list drowsiness as a possible side-effect.

message 24: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Shiroff | 840 comments I like the antidepressant and anxiety meds commercials that list thoughts of suicide as a side effect.

Jilly Gagnon (jillygagnon) | 147 comments Or the social-anxiety pills that list excessive sweating, flatulence, and anal leakage (or whatever)--all guaranteed to make you want to go out in public, yes?

Just saw one with three women sitting in the great outdoors eating prunes. You chicks sure know how to blow it out.

That was hilarious. I might invest in some Squat-a-Potty stock after that sales pitch! Or, I may build my own see how efficient it is first then name it- Squaté Paté.

Melki- You shop at some of the weirdest places!

Rodney Carlson (rodneycarlson) | 617 comments Looking through some of these this came up next on U-tube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVaQ5... I thought they were funny.

CartoonistAndre | 725 comments Those were funny also, Rodney. Quite a few oldies there. Steve Harvey is always a riot.

Did you ever see SNL's Kristen Wiig as a celebrity contestant on the old Password? She's another genius who'll be sorely missed on the show.

Here's the link-
