Chinmoy Gayan Angels and demons..it is faster than the rest

Just talking about the books: I read the Da Vinci code first. A&D: first of all: the female protagonist was almost exactly the same as in both books. I mean, the same circumstances: young, beautiful professional whose famous scientist father was killed in mysterious circumstances, etc. Really? Couldn't he get more creative with that? And the ending in A&D when the guy jumps out of the helicopter and sails to earth on a cape or something was down right silly. That's when I really lost it.

So, Da Vinci Code was better. Both were pretty light, though.

Maya I really like both books, but if I must make my choice it would be "Angles and demons". :)

طارق الفيلم يقلل من قدر الروايه ويمكن للخيال الشخصي أن يبدع عن المخرج

message 256: by Sharon (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sharon Wheater Angels and demons because its more relatable

Helenwho I read Da Vince code first, and was devastated to find that it was not the first book in the series.
I finished Angels & Demons, not long after, and I preferred Angels & Demons more, but both great books as well as the movies

Cynthia I love The Da Vinci Code! Book and movie. :)

message 260: by Ellie (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ellie Angels and Demons was much better and The Lost Symbol is definitely worth the read, probably my favorite.

Tejashree I liked both equally....

Abimbola Iletogun I love both books but i still will pick demons and angels over da vinci code anyday

message 263: by Hilal (new) - rated it 3 stars

Hilal I read Da Vinci Code first but I liked Angels and Demons more. I think story of Angels and Demons is more interesting and instructive. I learned so much interesting point about Christianity and Paganism in that book.

Keerthi DA VINCI CODE is the BEST .

Yan I liked Angels and Demons book better and The Da Vinci Code movie better.

Cristina I liked The Da Vinci Code best. A lot of food for thought there. I started Angels and Demons 3 times and for a reason or the other, I could not finish it.

Alexandria Anthony For sure Angels & Demons was better. It could be my bias towards everything and anything science-related but I thought the plot was more well developed. As for The Da Vinci Code, I think everyone hyped it up a little too much and I set my expectations too high. Angels & Demons is still my top favourite Dan Brown novel, and is certainly one of mt top 10 favourite books of all time.

SpookySoto The Da Vinci Code

THE PRINCE SEVENTHWOOD definitely the best was Angels AND demons and TDV was great but lost symbol was a drag.

message 272: by [deleted user] (new)

I loved Angels and Demons a tad more than I loved Da Vinci Code. Both were amazing stories, but Angels and Demons had a little more content that appealed to my interests.

Laureen Yeah Kael, I agree, except neither book is a mind blowing experience. I just don't get what all the hype is about. Perhaps it is the younger generations that find Dan Brown type writing interesting. I like the subject matter of The Da Vinci Code (hence why I gave it a go) but I thought Angels & Demons a tad better in holding one's interest. Neither book was good.

Jonnathan Angels & Demons all the way!. The Da Vince Code starts great, but it slowly but steadly keeps decreasing its quality as the story progresses to its dissapointing climax.

A&D in the other hand has a more consistent plot and the climax is more dramatic and unexpected.

message 275: by Laura (new) - rated it 5 stars

Laura Lusby Angels & Demons!

message 276: by Jaime (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jaime I have never been a dan brown fan and remain not interested in reading any more of his books. I have found them poorly researched and only of good story construction. As mindless fantasy, his books are passable fare.

Laureen Jaime wrote: "I have never been a dan brown fan and remain not interested in reading any more of his books. I have found them poorly researched and only of good story construction. As mindless fantasy, his book..."

I agree, but Angels & Demons was better than TDC in my opinion (less fantastical and more believable if that's possible). Only 2 books I have read.

message 278: by Jaime (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jaime I will give you that point.

Olivia "So many books--so little time."" I liked The Da Vinci Code better.

Gordana Angels and Demons definitely.

message 281: by Helen (new) - rated it 5 stars

Helen Da Vinci Code is my favorite because it was the first Dan Brown book I read. The others are still amazing but Da Vinci Code has my vote.

message 282: by Alvin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Alvin I enjoyed both of them, even though they read a bit like movie scripts...painting every visual details. Dan Brown's complex plotting is something I really admire. Love those twists and turns!

If you're looking for an intricate plot in a scientific thriller - since I do classify Angels and Demons as a techno-thriller, you might like GRIDLOCK by Alvin Ziegler.

Shameless self-promotion aside, it is averaging 4.5 stars out of 29 reviews.

message 283: by Allie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Allie Sipes I would have to choose out of the two books The Da Vinci Code. I found it better than Angels & Demons. The Da Vinci Code had more of an adventure to it then what Angels & Demons had to it.

message 284: by Uday (last edited Jan 23, 2014 11:03AM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Uday Kanth My fav Dan Brown book is and will remain Angels and Demons (his books seem to not get any better these days).

Da Vinci Code has the best controversy but Angels and Demons wins hands down in terms of everything else. It was a wonderful culmination of art, science, and god! Love everything about it!

Khadija My vote goes to Angels and Demons. It may be because i read it first. Da vinci nevertheess is a very interesting novel. Dan Brown is one of my favourite authors.

message 286: by David (new) - rated it 5 stars

David da vinci code and angels and demons are both interesting and similar, love the suspense.

message 287: by Nati (new) - rated it 3 stars

Nati I don't think any book of Dan Brown matches the awesomeness of Angels and Demons. It's definitely my favorite book of his.

Lori Tatar I loved The DaVinci Code, but Angels and Demons is even better.

message 289: by Marisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Marisa No book can ever compete The Da Vinci Code... Robert Brown's all books r awesome I think even though I didn't read all, but I think This is one of the best books ever written....I was sooo obsessed with it at first I've finished reading it.....

message 290: by Dani (last edited Dec 14, 2014 02:04AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dani Da Vinci Code is better, although Angels and Demons is still very good.

Clouise Angels and Demons

message 292: by Nu (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nu da vinci code is the best

message 293: by Pravin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Pravin Kumar I haven't read Angels and Demons yet but I would say DVC is one the best books i have ever read !

message 294: by Ava (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ava Definitely the Da Vinci code. Angels and Demons is a little... how should I say... twisted.

message 295: by Nuno (new) - rated it 4 stars

Nuno Silva I started with Angels & Demons because of the timeline and although I liked both of them I think it is the best one in all Robert Langdon's series.
As for the movies I didn't like them so much.

message 296: by V (new) - rated it 5 stars

V I liked The Da Vinci Code better, because it gave more information. Angels and Demons was entirely an action book.

message 297: by Will (new) - rated it 2 stars

Will Once I'm not a fan, so I wouldn't recommend both. For me you only need to read one Dan Brown as they are all pretty similar.

So it might as well be the famous one - Da Vinci Code.

message 298: by Ava (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ava I have changed my mind. After re-reading Angels and Demons, I have decided it is considerably more appealing

Apoorva The Da Vinci code was my first Dan Brown book so it will always be special but Angels and Demons is better.

Deepakkumar Da vinci Code any day
