Yowie Roberts Couldn't get past the first few pages of Angels but now Sanctus has surpassed the Da Vinci code

Vineet Da Vinci code is technically the sequel to angels and demons. Although you can start with any, both are great books in their own right. Though angels and demons was written first, it got popular only after da Vinci's success.

Amanda It was definitely The Da Vinci Code for me. While I enjoy all Brown's books, there is just something about this one. It was an absolute phenomenon when it came out. I'll never forget the excitement I felt all through reading it. The definition of a page turner.

Angky Angels and Demons ;9

Michelle In order of preference: Angels and Demons, Lost Symbol, Da Vinci Code. This is not to say I didn't really like the Da Vinci Code, I just liked the other two better. I find it nearly impossible to like a movie version of a book I've already read (an exception: The Lovely Bones - movie was better than the book), so I didn't expect much from the movies anyway.

Nicole Angels & Demons was a much superior book in my opinion.

Sharon Di Vinci Code

Sarah Well I think it depends a little on your age. I'm 14 and I read both books. I like to read books rather quickly so I would rather Angels & Demons. Da Vinci Code took me a little longer to read so I got a little annoyed but I loved both books! :)

Probably Angels & Demons for me. I really liked Da Vinci Code, but Angels & Demons was somewhat easier to visualize in my mind, and I really liked it how the author sort of came up with a "solution" to bringing religion and science together. Not sure how to explain what I really mean, but I liked it a lot how Dan Brown could argue on both sides.

Da Vinci Code.

Deniz Angels & Demons is one of the best book I have ever read.

jackie frye I loved the Da Vinci Code, but Angles and Demons was better, I guess I super loved it!

Mishal Definitely Angels and Demons. It kept me on the edge of my seat and was just overall more interesting than the Da Vinci Code.

Angie I read Da Vinci code first and love, love, loved it. Then I picked up Angels & Demons and was blown away. Both are great well written books with a store line that keeps you readings. If I had to choose between the two I would have to pick Angels.

Noura Da Vinci Code is slightly better :)

Marija Angels and Demons.

Nathalie I've read both and my preference goes to Da vinci Code. ^^

Sheryl nocum Da Vinci Code!

Gabriel Ruata none lol

Luraander The first book that I read was Angels & Demons, and I prefered Langdon in that book. But, the movie wasn't good at all.
I think that A&D ending is better than TDVC one. So, that's my opinion.

Yasmeen i haven't read the lost sympol nor watched the movies YET, but you guys really don't like 'em huh?!!
anyway, i liked the two books very much. but A&D was much better for me.
you see, with the da vinci code, i had my share of BORE and being completely LOST thing occassionally. i don't remember that happening to me with angels and demons. i also liked Vittoria much better than Sophie. and by the way, i hated the fact that Dan Brown has completely erased Vittoria from the da vinci code, and replaced her with the same old we're-stupid-busy-scientists-long-distance-relationship thing!!!!!! hope he doesn't do that for the third time in the lost sympol.

Yasmeen George wrote: ""The DaVinci Code" undoubtedly deserves its place high on the list of the worst books ever written. Its short chapters insult the intelligence of the reader much like the work (I shudder to use the..."

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw!! you really didn't like it huh??! i don't understand, i loved the book. i also thought it revealed valuable information and question marks. i am a Muslim, and i think my religion is the right and original one, and i think this book made my point through reason and facts. but i thought it was too abusive to Christianity. reveals the truth, yes, but very harshly.

Angels and Demons.

As to the movies: Angels and Demons would have been better if it was made as a prequel to The Da Vinci Code, instead of having it a sequel. As to The DaVinci Code movie, it would've sucked if I hadn't read the book first.

Erica Nabena i love them,, they have speciality,, in da vinci code it can mix between art and science..
in angel and demons art mix with politic..
cool
i love art..
then i love both of them.

Katie I say Angels and Demons probably because I read it first. I found Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol extremely repetitive and therefore the first was the best... I had to put The Lost Symbol down before finishing because I honestly couldn't handle another cheesy ending.

Silena Styles Actually I think that Angels and Demons is the reason why I am here, reading, and bla bla bla. That was the first book long that I read. I don't like The Da Vinci Code So, yeah, angels and demons:)

Leonard I personally enjoyed Angels and Demons more. Just the whole idea of a grand scale "scavenger hunt" against the ticking clock was awesome!

Same with me Emily....

I have read all of the 3 novels - Da Vinci Code, Lost Symbol and Angels & Demons and amongst them, Angels & Demons was the book that simply got me hooked. Helluva novel..!!!!

Ashley Amber I really enjoyed reading Angels & Demons, although I loved the movie Da Vinci Code, I didnt think the book was as well done. I couldnt take my eyes off Angels & Demons and lost myself in it completely. I really enjoyed The Lost Symbol as well, and felt light hearted after the end.

message 81: by Paul (new) - rated it 5 stars

Paul Vincent I have to say I was amazed by how structurally similar the two books were. It was rather like one was a trial run for the other. I enjoyed both, but I think Angels and Demons had the edge (although I can't pin down why).

Shubham I think Angels and Demons was better.
Though the da Vinci Code was written explicitly for the thrill, I felt Angesl & Demons had a deeper storyline, a deeper plot and a better portrayal of Langdon...
That's my opinion.

Agreed :)

True..

I agree..

Pamela Angels and Demons was the best in the series. Da Vinci Code was okay but not the best, and the Lost Symbol was AWFUL!!!

message 87: by Mia (new) - rated it 4 stars

Mia Angels and Demons!!!

ZombieUnicorn The Da Vinci Code. After that it becomes trivial and much like he copied the story line, twitched it here and there, and then sendt the book back for republishing, just with a different name this time.

Fredy Treboux Angels and Demons, definitely.
Although I agree that most of the writing is not as good, the story and some of the crucial moments on the book are so much more compelling to me. That's not to say I don't love Da Vinci Code as well, but I was really surprised at how much A&D got me changing my point of view on the characters and their opinions, specially when approaching the end.

message 90: by Chanaka (new)

Chanaka Hettige Angles and Demons cause its action is more intense. As a non-Christian i dont care about the religious conflict. But if u gave me to choose between this two and Lost Symbol too, No second thoughts LOST SYMBOL wins!

message 91: by Dawn (new) - rated it 4 stars

Dawn I couldn't pick between the three. I think they are all really great, and should all be read in order.

Pimmy I love them both.
Da Vinci Code was amazing since the first to the last page.
However, Angels &Demons in the last part was extreamely amazing!
This make me can't choose it. ;))

Michael Weber The Da Vinci Code had me from start to finish, both good books but would have to go with The Da Vinci Code here.

I thought Digital Fortress was the worst of the the four books. Deception Point was so so.

I liked Angels and Demons more than The Da Vinci Code. Much more.

message 95: by Jim (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jim Glover I love both books. They are both awesome, but I would have to say I lean a little to the Da Vinci Code. It was the first Dan Brown book I read and I literally had trouble putting the book down. I was hooked for first page to the last.

Harish P I like the Da Vinci Code movie and the book of Angels and Demons

Heather I enjoyed both books, but I think The Da Vinci Code was better.

message 98: by RochErk (new)

RochErk I liked Da Vinci Code better than Demons & Angels. Couldn't bring myself to finish the book.

message 99: by Dani (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dani Da Vinci Code - although Angels & Demons is good too.

message 100: by Epic (new)

Epic Sex Stories Da Vinci Code is by far his best, and I've read them all. The Lost Symbol is his worst.
