Ellen (karenvirginiaflaxman) | 115 comments There are, apparently, three authors who have the same name - Peter Carey:

http://www.goodreads.com/book/combine...

There is already a note telling us about the three different authors, but no disambiguation has been done. Shall I add two new profiles, one with two spaces between the first and last name and another with three spaces? This process is difficult for me to understand, being relatively new as a librarian. Thanks for your help.

Sorry!!! I sent you the wrong link. The correct link for Peter Carey is:

http://www.goodreads.com/book/combine...

Thanks!

Paula (paulaan) | 7027 comments If you go to this page you will see that there are already authors with ^^ and ^^^ spaces

http://www.goodreads.com/author/simil...

You will need to check each book and edit the author on each book if they belong to the ^^ or ^^^ space authors or create new ^^^^ and ^^^^^ space profiles

If you edit the author profile - half way done the page on the right is a link to similar names - this takes you to a list of other profiles with similar names like the one I linked to above

Thanks so much, Paula. I'll give it a shot and if I run into problems I'll contact you again. This can become quite complex, and I imagine that it takes practice to get the procedure down thoroughly.
