Kate Can anyone recommend any memoirs or biographies (or any genre for that matter) where there is a yoga theme? I am interested in reading about individuals journey as they discover and explore yoga.

Laura I read Poser and thought it was okay. The most interesting memoir about yoga - and so much more- that I have read is called Waking: A memoir about Trauma and Transcendence by Matthew SanFord. This is the story about a car accident that paralyzed him and causes the death of some of his family members, and his eventual discovery about yoga as a way to move and teach while paralyzed. Beautiful and thought-provoking.

A complete opposite seems to be the book review I just read in today's NYTBR called Hell-Bent by Benjamin Lorr. It's a story of being a competitor in a Bikram yoga competition. Somehow, after practicing yoga myself, that seems to be the opposite of yoga mind to me, but that's just my editorial comment...Waking: A Memoir of Trauma and Transcendence
