I finally started our group read, so I thought I'd start the discussion thread. How are you finding it so far?

Rebecca Huston (telynor) | 11 comments To be honest, I didn't much care for this view of the Romanovs final days. Rappaport takes far too much on conjecture, and at times, gets things downright wrong. I preferred Massie's treatment, which stayed in with what was actually known, and stays away from hyperbole.

I finished the book and I really liked it. I found the structure (the chapters as the last 14 days of their lives) approachable. Might be a good introduction to the tragedy for anyone who hasn't read about the events before. Yes, Rebecca, I agree that Massie is the King, but I think Rappaport's attempt to reconstruct events is decent. I posted my review:
