Hi! I really enjoy reading SOIAF. I think all parts are great. However, I've never read something quite like Jon Snow's part. I mean those army of mystery/magic being attack man's land so we build a wall or fortress and guard the realm of man or something like that. I assume there is a plenty of book that use this motif but I've never read one. So...can you recommend some good book that use this motif for me?

Georgie Sabriel has a wall...

Actually, Sabriel and the rest of The Abhorsen Trilogy are perfect if you like Jon Snow's part... Sabriel (Abhorsen, #1) by Garth Nix

:) No problem!

Laura Tad Williams Shadowmarch series has something of the sort. I know I have read plenty of books with this theme, but only Shadowmarch comes to mind at the minute.

Laura Oh! Kristen Britain's Green Rider Series definitely has a wall like this. Love those books!

Ronald Lett It is similar to the romanticized French Foreign Legion, as denoted in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_F... .

IUHoosier The wall was based on Hadrian's wall in Britain. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hadrian&...
