Lindsay (itwasatrickpie) | 5 comments The entire Discworld series in the corgi paperback editions have had their cover art deleted. Looking at a few of the change logs it was done by 'Goodreads', not a user. Was this an error or is there a reason for this?

Example:

Kim | 604 comments Very strange but you can hit undo on it to fix it for now and hopefully get some explanation of why it was done. All the editions I have are Corgi

Lindsay (itwasatrickpie) | 5 comments I've done it with a few, I'm not doing it with them all(!), maybe 'Goodreads' will mysteriously undo the rest the way they mysteriously deleted them in the first place?

Sffgeek | 26 comments This is a real pain! If they can't be reverted automatically, then I'll help - but let's leave them a day or so to see if it gets sorted...

Darkpool Just stumbled across another example of this (and fixed it... couldn't help myself), but noticed in the process that the default image "no image available" cover uploaded to replace the correct cover is different to the one I'm used to seeing. Interesting. Can't help but think the change of default image must be relevant to this glitch somehow.

Darkpool I don't think mine was (how do I tell?)... for the record it is this book http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11... and, I notice, a Corgi edition.

Lobstergirl Wow, this is annoying!

I've noticed it on two books today. One is this (I've since re-uploaded the correct image):

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12...

The source shows as "Random House." The actual publisher is Beacon Press. This is the first time I've seen a publishing house such as Random House show up as a source.

And another Random House source:

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16...

Make it stop!!!

The source on yours is Random House too.

Darkpool Ah, I see where you're finding that info now :-)

Hey All,

Apologies - we owe you an explanation. In order to keep this thread related to the specific issues reported, I made another thread: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/7...

On this thread, I'm not sure I understand the issue. Are we deleting books and not replacing them with a cover? If so that's bad - can we get examples? Any other issues?

message 12: by Darkpool (new)

Darkpool What appears to be happening is that when Random House doesn't have an image for the book, it imports their default "no image exists" picture, which then overwrites the existing, good picture (which clearly has come from Amazon or B&N according to your other thread)

Paula (paulaan) | 7027 comments Interesting, If you do a search on the ISBN13 on Random House website - the book does have a cover

message 15: by Nenangs (new)

Nenangs | 469 comments maybe an issue of bug in the interface program between randomhouse (or other publishers) with GR.
