How did Remarkable Creatures compare to any other books by Tracy Chevalier that you've read?

I'm going to be a brat and add a second part to the question: How does Remarkable Creatures compare to Joan Thomas's Curiosity?

Haven't read any other Chevalier's. Just looked up Curiosity, and you are right, how interesting, but don't see how that makes you a brat. Don't you just love something like that - that gets one on a tangent and start doing research on topics of many sorts. Really really good find there. Don't know if I'll read it, but it is fascinating how close the two stories appear to be. Have you read it??? Or did you live or visit the area at some point

The only other Chevalier book I read was Girl With a Pearl Earring, which I though was pretty good but not, like, INCREDIBLE. I actually preferred Remarkable Creatures.
