Manybooks | 147 comments Anything But Typical is an amazing book. I totally loved the book, but it also made me cry in many places. Actually, people should not only read the book, they should also read the reviews of the book, both the high rating and the low rating books. Some of the lower rating reviews, wow, are these ever naive, mean-spirited and completely unenlightened. Some basically say that the readers became bored and annoyed with Jason because he was so self-absorbed. Well, duhh, the book is about and written from the point of view of a young boy with autism (so he will likely appear self absorbed and hyper focused at times because that is a standard part or symptom of autism). And maybe those of you who think that this book is boring and tedious might consider that those of us who do not fit in, those of us who get bullied because of social issues, because of not being neuro-typical might also find standard society in general dragging, boring and problematic. Read this book, read reviews and keep an open mind.
