Kathy | 62 comments Hi. I'm looking for two different kinds of recommendations. First, a book about lost love. The characters once dated, but were torn apart for some reason and finally reunited. Kind of like Persuasion by Jane Austen. Second, maybe a storyline where one of the characters has amnesia. I'm just in the mood for those kinds of stories at the moment, but don't know where to go to find it. Thanks!!

Serena Casey (serenacasey) | 14 comments My novel fits your first description, but it's contemporary - not sure if you're looking for that since you mentioned Jane Austen. Anyway, it's here: http://serenacasey.com

Teryn | 84 comments Marcia Lynn McClure has one called "Love Me". Although it is also contemporary. It falls under your lost love kind.

Rebecca Gomez Farrell (thegourmez) | 6 comments My novella is also a lost love tale, though it's also contemporary so may not be what you're looking for. It's called Maya's Vacation, and Maya and her lost love meet again at a food, wine, and art retreat in the woods. It's a short read you can finish in an evening! http://www.astraeapress.com/#ecwid:ca...

Kathy | 62 comments Thanks, I'm up for any genre so I'll check out your suggestions!

Teryn- I actully just finished Love Me, it's what got me in the mood for "lost love" books. :)

Teryn | 84 comments Yes...I love that book! She is a fun author. Hope you find some fun ones.

Rachel | 59 comments I have two suggestions, but they aren't books, more like short stories. Donna Hatch's Constant Hearts, Inspired by Jane Austen's Persuasion fits your lost love description perfectly. I love all of Donna Hatch's books and I am looking forward to more. :)

My short story, "Exchange" (http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/...) is definitely has the amnesia plot line you mentioned. It is a science fiction (clean) romance. If you like the constant hero and heroine who will not give up despite overwhelming odds, it should be a good match. If you are interested, the book trailer is on youtube (http://youtu.be/4NjehRfRSj0).

Katherine | 20 comments I just finished a new book called Blank Slate by Heather Justesen.
It fits in with the amnesia plot line and is completely clean. I really enjoyed it! The book blurb on GoodReads isn't very helpful, but Linda Weaver Clark did a great interview with her recently here http://lindaweaverclarke.blogspot.com...
Good luck!

I was going to suggest Blank Slate, as well, though I haven’t read more than the first chapter.
KATHERINE, question for you. Was the book really predicable? Because, like I said, I read the first chapter and it was really good, but I felt like I had the plot all figured out just from the foreshadowing that was mentioned in those first few pages. (Maybe that’s the curse of being a writer, myself, I pick up on too much. It’s just not as much fun to read, when you think you know what’s gonna happen. It’s like peeking at the Christmas presents.)

My book fits both, and is the start of a series (though the "lost love" portion isn't concluded in the first book). It's YA, with a science-fiction/fantasy twist, and a cute, clean romance.

The synopsis:

IT starts on a cold night, before best friends Aura and Terren are to be separated forever. During a trip to the meadow, the girls are attacked by otherworldly creatures, and an evil plot begins to unfold...
Terren: discovers she's not who she thought she was, and that she is being hunted by a monster more terrifying than her worst imaginings.
Aura: is faced with a truth she's been trying to run from, lies she's been trying to keep hidden, and an old acquaintance that keeps coming back.
Can the horrible truth be confronted, or will they be swallowed by the shadows of the past?
The first book in the Foxfire Chronicles, Shadows of Past Memories is an introduction to an entirely new world, where nothing is as it seems, and everything has a meaning.

The Foxfire Chronicles Shadows of Past Memories (Foxfire Chronicles #1) by Alexandra Lanc

I'm actually running an ebook sale right now. You can get this book for $0.99 through 1/3 at Amazon and Smashwords.

Smashwords: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/...

Hope this helps, and I hope you get to read. :)
