Nigel Bird (nigelbird) | 59 comments Hi.

I'm a Scottish author, lover of crime-fiction, a teacher and a family man.

I have a number of books out including and .

I'm also an editor and put out the collection Pulp Ink this year with co-editor Chris 'Death By Killing' Rhatigan. It's an anthology featuring 24 amazing authors.

I won the Watery Grave Invitational in 2010, TIRB Fairytale Crime in 2011 and was a nominee in the Spinetingler Awards category Best Story On The Web.

My blog is and I've been running a very popular series called Dancing With Myself over there (and crime-writers wishing to interview themselves - that's the concept - would be most welcome).

I'm also a teacher and father of 3 lovely (most of the time) children.

Thanks for the space and it's nice to be here,

Hi Nigel, welcome to the group (and thank you for reading the rules about posting; always appreciated!)

One of the group's goals is to broaden reading horizons, so I'm sure you'll be a fine source of new reading material for our members. I hope that you get some ideas for your own reading pleasure as well.

Best of luck with your books and blogs, and students and family.

Nigel Bird (nigelbird) | 59 comments Thanks.

I've been on Goodreads for a while and haven't really done the group thing, so I'm hoping I'm in a good spot. Feels like I've landed on my feet.

Welcome Nigel. Always good to hear about new writers and this group certainly covers the entire mystery/crime genre.

T (twoo) | 18420 comments Hey Nigel! I find it interesting to find people from all over the world here, and often forget that other countries are represented until I see posts from odd (to my local timezone anyway) times of the day.

It's probably best illustrated when a bunch of us start rapidly updating some of the discussions in the Fun & Game topic, almost like we are doing speed rounds and seeing who can hit the fastest.

You sound like regular Guy . Have you heard of a Author going by the name of Tony Black?

message 8: by Nigel (new)

Nigel Bird (nigelbird) | 59 comments Tony Black. Now there's a writer. I met him when he did a reading, the release I think, of Truth Lies Bleeding. It's a truly great book, there's no doubt about it. He's a talent to be watched as I suspect you know.

Tony was kind enough to do an interview with me on my Sea Minor blog and also gave me a chocolate frog.

Chocolate frogs rule.
