A swirl of mist appeared outside the window, and Checkers stepped out of it and onto the sill outside. He peered at the glass curiously and knocked on it, then saw Mary and grinned, waving.

Checkers became mist and stepped forward, again, reappearing this time on the arm rest of a couch, looking very much like an actual cat, with his tail around him. "Hello. And how is the Queen of Hearts?" He asked, tilting his head and lowering it a bit, a wide smile on his face.
