How does the author create imagery about Julie's obsessions? Many times animals are mentioned in relation to Julie. Do the animals serve as a symbol? What is the importance of the animals?

I think its like this.

Miss Julies dog mating with the gatekeepers mutt symbolizes the relationship between Miss Julie (upper class) and Jean (lower class)

The caged bird also symbolizes Miss Julie, they are both locked in. The bird in the cage and Miss Julie by societys rules. Also when Jean kills the bird its a foreshadowing of Miss Julies fate.

what is the role of Diana in the act one of the miss Julie play ?
