Ist 605 The Oxford English Dictionary was my first choice so I agree with you, Lara. It's celebrating its 80th anniversary this year! US customers can purchase the 20 volume print version for $895 until 31 January 2009. If that's not possible, finding an in-good-condition used set would be worth including in our reference collection. The online version is updated quarterly and has added a special science focus. OED 80th Anniversary events are being held. The Philadelphia Free Library is hosting a discussion on November 19th from 7-9 PM. Anybody want to attend?
