Actually, the only thing that explains is that Transformers would lose too much money and there would be a massive uproar should the Decepticons actually win for once; i.e. they could not allow Megsy to live. I mean, come on. Optimus couldn't even beat Megatron by himself in the first movie- a HUMAN had to do it for him. So, basically, it merely proves an unfair and bias abuse of power, in an effort to make more money from a movie. It has nothing to do with their abilities, as the first movie proved Megsy was bigger, badder, better.
well that was the 1st movie! he learned martial arts over time so what now?!?!?!?!?!?!??!
I already said, in the first movie it was the most accurate. You couldn't have Witwicky kill Megatron TWICE. So, they had to suddenly reverse the balance of power in the Second movie just to give the fans what they wanted. Who would want to watch a show where the bad guy wins? And in the last movie, they needed to end it, so they had to kill Megatron obviously.The fact that Optimus is capable of beating him shows nothing except a couple of people trying to give the fans what they wanted. If Megatron was so easy to beat, why hadn't Optimus managed to do it on Cybertron? It showed this in the first movie. In the others? Just some director trying to make money.

There is sense in Jasmine's words. The only reason Optimus Prime wins, the only reason the entire Autobot faction wins, is because it is customary that the "good guys" save the world and thwart the Decepticons. Nobody would want to watch a Transformers movie where the "bad guys" were victorious. But based off what I have seen, when the scales have not been drastically tilted to fit the plotline, Decepticons are a lot more powerful than the Autobots. It stands to reason, then, that Megatron can "kick his aft anyday."2007:
There are no restrictions to what the Producers of Transformers can do. It was well-shown that Megatron (realistically) overpowered Optimus Prime with ease. This was not continued in following movies for a number of reasons; namely, for ratings. You will notice that, in subsequent movies, it abruptly seems to switch to fit the plotline. Should you have a real Megatron and Optimus Prime, however, I believe the former would most certainly win. The Decepticon leader is, by far, more suited and superior in battle than the old Science Division Leader could ever be.
2009:
Due to the occasional complaint over a human being needed to kill the enemy's Supreme Commander, they had to resort to (unrealistically) making Optimus a powerful fighter all of a sudden. So they gave the fans what they wanted. Still doesn't count however. Even with the powerboost of Jetfire, Optimus Prime failed to kill Megatron. I personally don't think any achievements by the Prime counted in this movie: it was done with the power of Jetfire, not Optimus Prime himself. And you mustn't forget who killed Optimus in that movie.
2011:
The franchise is at an end. As Jasmine said, no good director is going to let the antagonists win- not if they actually want to make money from it. In her eyes it, therefore, doesn't count either. It was simply because it had to be done; an attempt to make money, and do as the fans demanded.
Not to forget, there are hints towards Megatron's power in other continuties, too. Pulling you away from Bayformers, in the 1984 movie: Megatron killed Optimus, who died within a few moments after his battle with the Decepticon leader. Megatron? Not only lasted a trip to Cybertron with his injuries, but also survived being chucked out into space by Starscream, only to return moments later and blast him. Megatron would've easily outlived his nemesis if it weren't for the actions of his Second-in-Command.
yes well if u recall optimus came back at least a dozen times. the return of optimus prime part 1&2, comics, should i say more?

Your point? Megatron nearly always returns as well. It proves nothing. In fact, the only thing it does prove is that Optimus is weak enough to die in the first place; multiple times and in multiple continuities. And before you even try to rebuke that, it's not like he has returned to life by his own power. It's done by other people, with other's help. So how does that make him, singley, stronger than Megatron? It doesn't.
In that case, Awesomely, I've already won. This debate has been had a million times over with my brother.
XP so the only reason why megs keeps coming back is because of unicron the planet eater/destroier. because of him megatron comes back as galvatron. and thats the only reason.and optimus comes back because rodimus is a fucken loser! so optimus has to come back to clean up his mess.And besides that the only reason why prime died the first time is because of pathitic old hot rod.
I don't see why you're telling me that. I wasn't the one who used the argument "Optimus always returns" and attempted to make it sound like that it somehow made him superior.Did Hot Rod pull the trigger? I think not. The whole fact that Hot Rod even turned up to try and save Optimus shows how poorly he believed his leader to be doing in battle. With or without Hot Rod, Megatron probably would've won. The outcome was inevitable.

All the disagreements happen in this topic... XPAw, me and my friend are so mean! XD Two of our friends went to the toilet, so we took EVERYTHING out of their front pocket and put it into the other's. One of them went into their front pocket during Science, searching for their lip gloss, and then when they couldn't find it they actually looked in and found two pads in there. XDD The other one was so embarrassed. :P
But funny! They'll get over it. :P They should know not to leave two of the pranksters in the group alone with their belongings. ;)
