terpkristin | 3609 comments Funny I saw Tom post this on G+ and Twitter but you post for him here. :)

Congrats, Tom. This will be added to the queue. Is this a follow-on to Boiling Point (i.e. does Boiling Point need to be read first)?

Sean O'Hara (SeanOHara) | 2329 comments Since I was complaining on G+ about Tom's graphic design, I thought I'd put together something a little snazzier.

Nice, now we need a Frank Frazetta version!

Lepton | 176 comments From the G+ post:

"Now as the Moon finally gains respect on it's parent planet"

Ugh, Merritt. It's. Its.

And maybe "from its parent planet" and not "on its parent planet"

I am going to assume this is some sort of mobile device auto-completion error mixed with minor exhaustion.

Philip (heard03) | 383 comments Okay Sword and Laserers, Tom has only got 24 fans right now. Stop slacking and give the man's Goodreads stats his S&L bump already:

Hehe .. with that cover maybe it should be called "United Full Moon Colonies".

message 12: by Tamahome (new)

Tamahome | 5090 comments Tom should podcast the book at the end of S&L. :)

ha! what a cheeky cover :)

Anyway congrats Tom! Would love a .ePub format version. Maybe if you have a source .html version you could allow others to convert that same as what I believe Cory Doctrow does.

Brian | 67 comments Did Veronica pose for the cover ?

Long black hair, there is a likeness.

message 15: by Brian (new)

Brian | 67 comments For audiobook formant here is Tom narrating it.

Yes, but the butt has been airbrushed.

Hey thanks all. I was a little shy of posting it here. Too pimpy for me. Should have known Veronica would pick up my slack. (as usual. Thanks V!)

It is not a sequel to Boiling Point, so you can definitely read it on its own.

Audio version is slowly being recorded and posted at http://www.subbrilliant.com/blog/

Working on a site to collect all the info in one place (where I will DEFINITELY put your awesome alternate covers!)

However if you go to Archive.org you can dind epub Kindle and other formats for free http://www.archive.org/details/United...

Tamahome | 5090 comments Doesn't http://www.archive.org/download/Unite... have the audio version?

Oh I see, that's the 1st hour.

Nice find! I particularly like the unstressed pose of the woman. It looks like she's lining up to laser the monkey monsters with a boob.

message 22: by Philip (new)

Philip (heard03) | 383 comments Gotta dig an indie audio book. First 3 parts downloaded and loaded on my mp3 player. Thanks Tom!

Are you considering putting the completed audio book on Librivox in the future?

message 24: by Don (new)

Don | 80 comments I agree Tom should add it at the end of S&L podcast so it can be delivered in Itunes.

That is not a terrible idea!

Don | 80 comments Mur Lafferty sometimes puts extra things in the feed for I Should Be Writing. It could be separate posts from the show.

message 27: by Nick (new)

Nick (Whyzen) | 1292 comments Hey Tom!
You should grab a bunch of friends and film a book trailer. Looks like its the thing to do nowadays. First time I ever saw a book trailer it took me a while to figure out the book wasn't being made into a movie.

Who should play what parts?

message 29: by aldenoneil (last edited Aug 30, 2011 08:39PM) (new)

aldenoneil | 1000 comments Do you have any characters that are nebbish and socially awkward? I could probably pull that off.

Jenny (Reading Envy) (readingenvy) | 2259 comments I do an awesome frumpy.

Nick (Whyzen) | 1292 comments Tom wrote: "Who should play what parts?"

Well obviously Roger Chang needs a role somewhere in the trailer.

message 32: by Scott (new)

Scott (smrathburn) | 35 comments Great Tom! I have added it to my reading list along with Boiling point.

message 33: by Edvardas (new)

Edvardas | 9 comments Yesterday downloaded the epub version from archive.org. Haven't read yet, but scanned thru it :) Probably will start reading this weekend.
Some observation for the epub file:
1) I has a missing index/toc (the one in the document does not count as it has just two entries)
2) In some places (my guess its page boundaries or something) the is text "United moon colonies" and/or a new paragraph starts in the middle of a sentence.

Thanks Edvardas. That's Archive.org's automatically generated version. I'll look into converting the original doc into a better formatted file

This sounds like a job for a certain Messrs. JuRY and Brushwood, and a realm of chat. They've put together some good ones for DragonCon. And it gives Tom a good reason to break out his hats. <>

Congratulations on iBooks accepting United Moon Colonies. Someday I'll have to have you sign my copy.

Oh wait, it's digital! Maybe someone could invent an autograph app.
