Just spent about 10-12 hours reading and exploring the Lay. (Totally unfair that this does not count as a book.) Such a joy to read and so sad it was never finished in it's full form

Having read the article on She and the Lay of Berin and Luthien (Fisher's book) I thought I should read Haggard's novel. Once one gets over the politically incorrect racism in the book it has some interesting parallels.

Dave Maddock (dmaddock1) | 1 comments Yes, that racism hump exists for all his books, though the issue is more nuanced for Haggard than is perhaps recognized. Unfortunately, since he is otherwise still eminently readable.

Looking forward to the notification of the sections of the Lay of Leithian that need to be read for The Story of The Hobbit course.
