Brandon Easton | 2 comments Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I just discovered this site after creating a group for an afterschool literacy program I teach with in Harlem. This is a great idea for a site!

I am Brandon, professional writer and teacher living in the Bronx. I recently read Al Gore's book THE ASSAULT ON REASON and I would totally recommend it for anyone who wants to know why some people are incapable of connecting to the world or are completely distracted by entertainment media to the point of being socially and politically oblivious.

I have studied the politics of electronic media saturation for over a decade and this book summarizes all the major theories of WHY people can't and don't read in our society; WHY kids are disconnected from their peers; WHY the corporate elite can get away with murder with scarcely a shrug from the mainstream.

It is excellent reading. Just my .02

:)
