I mentioned this in my review, but the author mentioned that there is the potential for a sequel. I wanted to know what everyone thought. Would you want to see a sequel to this or is this a stand alone novel?

Wow I would definitely love a sequel. As I was reading the end I felt that the book wasn't quite complete.
I think it's great as a standalone novel, and would hate for it to be ruined by the author just plucking ideas out of thin air. However, if she had planned a sequel, or could see the next steps I would love one!
I agree. The book really does leave things open in the end. It would be cool to have a sequel but it would really suck if it didn't meet up to the first one or better.
I am confused. If there is a chance for a sequel will it be written in a letter format as this one and if not will it be better or worse. Because I know that the unique writing style is one of the reasons I like this book.

I think that if a sequel WORKS, she should totally do it- but I sort of liked it as a stand alone and I'd hate to have her ruin it just because (or for money). I feel like Gemma's story is basically over, though... there's not much they can do realistically from this point. Unless she pulled a Midnight Sun and retold the entire thing from his perspective, but I don't think that would be as compelling.
I would LOVE MORE!!!!! OMG I was crying by the end I had total Stockholm syndrome!! I would like it to be now Ty talking to Gemma. I was hoping he would get a light sentence like 2 years in a psychiatric facility and then maybe he will come out and apologize to Gemma and tell her what he was thinking.
There has to be a SEQUEL for this novel. The book ended abruptly and I really want see if they'll meet after Ty gets released from jail

The ending wasn't what I wanted. Actually the ending kind of sucked. She left things opened and unfinished. The style of the writing wasn't what I was used to. And it could have been SO much BETTER! I thought it was okay. Not the best nor the worst book I've read so if she wrote a sequel I'd read it just to see how she would connect it in with the first and if it came out be be the ending I wanted.
A sequel would be amazing or maybe just another ending, you know one where they get their four months. This book killed me.
I would love to see a second one to this... but the only thing i'd really wanna see is ty and gemma together.. or meeting, but what else could happen?
no i woulnt read it i mean theres nothing else to say

If there were a sequel, I would wnat it to be in the point of view of Ty.... I would love to see what he thought and felt as he was watching Gemma grow up, then "rescue" her... So... I would definitely read that if that were the sequel....
I WOULD READ ANY SEQUEL!!! But I think Ty's perspective next would be extremely interesting whether or not it was a prequel of him planning this or if it was afterwards when got help and then wants to see Gemma again.
Yeah! That would be a really cool next book.... Cuz, Gemma just basically stopped... I would have liked to know what she really said in the hearing and what Ty felt and how Gemma felt... And the sentence Ty got... I think the auhtor could have explained a little more when she was rescued and after with her parents.. But honestly, I don't care what Ty did to her, he was a good person.... Gemma kinda over exaggerated... And if I were Gemma, I would never trust my parents again... Because Ty made it so clear to me that so many people put on a fake face to get through the day, and Gemma's parents, I felt, felt a little bit relieved when Gemma was gone. They got a taste of the media life. Freedom from their trouble daughter.... But, maybe they were devastated...? You never know....
I would so read the sequel. It wouldbe really interesting if she actually seen the nice part of Tyler and that they got together in the end.
I think she did see the nice part of Ty... But she just didn't want herself to admit that, in a certain way, Ty really did rescue her from all the damage of the outside world..... But, they couldn't get along.. Even if they tried....
I don't think there can be a sequel, because the way the book ended was suppose to be like that and it would always be a mystery. But it would be really cool if there was a sequel because then they can run away together:)
Yeah.. But would they really run away together?? After all, Gemma hasn't exactly forgiven Ty.... I don't think she ever will anyways... But... I mean, you never know. There probably won't be a sequel to see anyways.. But, if there were, I certainly don't think it would be Gemma and Ty running back to the place they came from... Or running off together at all...?
its not like im against the sequel ! i really really want a book that shows things taken to the next level ! bt c'mon wont the beauty of it just vanish away ? the inevitable and heart-breaking end will lose the effect it had .but ofcourse that's the other side of the coin :)
i would love a sequel , but i just hope that it isnt a disappointment .
I would like a sequel, I actually got a liking to Ty. I want the couple TyXGemma, but I also think that's not likely to happen... sigh...
I agree, I think the ending was supposed to be ambiguous and we arent supposed to know what happens at the trial and what happens with Ty. Thats what makes the ending such a mystery and so great. However, thats not to say if there was a sequal I wouldnt read it because I really enjoyed this book. I definately wanted them to end up together and I think I might have developed Stockholm Syndrome. :)
I really don't like the idea of a sequel...it would just be too much, i really liked the ending because it makes you think, it's not just those 'this is how it ends' endings
Great stand alone, but I enjoyed this book more than ANY I've read in the last six months (and that's a ton), so I'm totally on board for a sequel. I'm okay with it ending where it does, but I can see where there could be so much more story--if Lucy Christopher has the motivation to write one.
I think that this would be exciting to read. The book ended "Cliff hanging" and i would like to see what happend to Ty and IF Gemma's feelings were going to be the same or will she realise that she really does miss him, even after what he did!! i would love to read the sequel only if i get the same, heart pounding love towards the second book as i did the first!!!!
I need the story to continue, too!! I hated it at the end when nothing was explained the way everything should have been!
Vinola wrote: "yeah, i would love to read Ty's side of the story ;)"Omigawd! I never thought of that! Great idea!(: I'd love to hear his side of the story and maybe his time in the cell&what it's like and how it was at the court/trial thing.
I KNOW!!! I loved Ty, honestly. I thought he was great. He showed Gemma a side of the world that she would've never seen. And he helped her when she got that bite instead of letting her die!!
Yes!!!! The entire time i was thinking "C'mon Gemma!!! Give the guy a break. he's just trying to be nice and show you something you will never learn anywhere else, you ungreateful brat!" haha maybe not the brat part.... But i thought that she was a little harsh on him.... If a guy treated me that nicely, sure i would've demanded to contact my family, but i would've been sweeter to him than Gemma was to Ty!
exactly!! it's like, "seriously, Gemma, he's a hot blond-haired, blue-eyed Aussie guy who only wants a bit of love and affection, any girl in the right mind could NOT say no to that!!" yes she was definitely too harsh on him. Ty was sweet and honestly, honestly loved Gemma, he just went about it the wrong way. it's too bad it took Gemma the whole book to realise that.
ehhh yep!!!! i mean good lord!! Who wouldn't want an Aussie? not saying there's a huge difference between Aussie men, American men or any other men, i'm just saying really???!!! I did love how the author finally did have Gemma start to love Ty.... i think that if Ty just talked to her and let her know him as he knew her, she'd love him and go to Australia or wherever. But since he just took her and made her hate him, she couldn't and wouldn't. It's kinda like "coulda woulda shoulda." Sooooooo... Ty is almost my dream guy(=
