Another killing in Bon Temps finds Jason back in custody with officers Andy (Chris Bauer) and Bud (William Sanderson). Tara gets him off the hook, but neither she nor Lafayette has the antidote to his current ailment. Urged by Gran to use her telepathic abilities to weed out the murderer and exonerate her brother, Sookie persuades Bill to take her to a Shreveport vampire bar called Fangtasia, where she impresses a dominant Nordic bloodsucker named Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) with her prescient powers. Later, Bill demonstrates his own considerable powers when an abusive patrolman stops the couple on their way home.

I noticed noone had made a post yet so here it is! I thought this episode was decent. Funny about Jason's "hard-on" issue but Lafayette did warn him. I hate that vampire blood for men gets them horny and vampire blood for women seems to heal. Or is that just what it does when you need it to do a certain thing? I think because they were talking about violence, that's what got Jason so hard. When he was trying to relieve himself, the sex wasn't helping but the violence sure did! I think Arlene is already starting to be a bitch. I hope they don't make Sam out to be the killer. That was very disturbing to me at the end when he breaks into Dawn's house to smell her sheets! I thought it was Sookie's house at first!
Eric is not attractive. Pam is adorable and I can imagine her as the sorority girl Marcia Brady type. Eric's wig sucks and his overall looks is not what I expected but oh well. I'll live.
I generally agree. I enjoyed this episode although it didn't leave me on pins and needles like the others. Dummy me turned it off before next weeks previews...grrrr.I also was very WTF when Sam was in the bed and going all hormonal in the sheets. Hello! What's that all about? Mind you, I've only finished the first book in the series.
Oh shoot. I turned it off after I saw Sam rubbing all over the sheets like a pervert. I missed the preview of next week too! Oh well. It'll be on 4969646464 times. Even though you've finished the first book, you are aware of who it was that was killing all the women, right? Sam on the sheets does not make sense. If they make him the killer, WTF does that leave him for the rest of the series?
I thought Eric was perfect I was so excited about this episode because finally we got to see eric. I loved how Sookie warned Eric instead of bill about everything that was happening. Cuz you know Bill is a butthead and all. well I guess not yet but I'm already mad at him cuz of what he revealed later on in the series. Oh I loved how he was jealous when Sookie noticed Eric great great stuff. I think Sam was at Dawn's place because he was trying to get the killers scent maybe ofcourse he did go about it in a strange way. Did anybody see who the guy was in the picture with Dawn that sam was looking at. Was that Malcolm?
I think Jason totally deserved his ummm problems maybe he'll learn to keep it in his pants a little longer.
oh I loved Pam. It's hard for me to see her as one of sookies sorta friends just yet though. I love how spazzy sookie was at Fangtasia. she was trying so hard not to be scared. I loved this episode.
I think the picture on the bar was Sam and Dawn and Sam was grieving when he was rubbing all over her sheets. I can't remember what their relationship was in the first book but I'm convinced that was his way of mourning her death.If regards to the blood, I think it heightens all of your senses and makes both men and women horny. That's why Sookie is suddenly so hot for Bill and can't seem to keep her hands off herself. I thought Jason got hard because the blood kicked in. I didn't occur to me that it was because of the conversation they were having.
Love Pam, Eric not so much. He's a decent enough looking guy but just not hot enough for Eric. Maybe he'll grow his own hair out and won't have to wear the wig next season. I hope he grows on me because I really want to like him.

He said that Sam was giving into his "canine" form. Think about the last time you saw a dog climb up on a bed - rolling back and forth...sniffing everywhere...enjoying a good scent.
Although it still made me feel weird - mainly because I wasn't expecting it at all...hubby made sense!

I like the guy the have for Eric but yeah the wig was bad. I enjoyed how they revealed why Tara thinks Jason is such a great guy and where her feelings for him come from. Jason with the priapism was funny as hell. I too was weirded out about Sam sniffing the sheets. That was a wtf moment but I think they're doing it just to make it seem like he's the killer. Sort of like a red herring . I didn't enjoy this episode like I did the others but I think Alan is doing a great job of making it his own while trying to stay true to the books. I just can't seem to like Anna as Sookie and that scream at the beginning of the show was just so blah. It sounded like someone stepping on a cat.P.S. still hating Bill :)
See, now, Bill's growing on me. I never liked him in the books either, so he's working just because he's so creepy. I think they should keep him in the henley shirts though. The way he does that sort of half open eyed stare up at you thing, completely freakish!I liked the look of Fangtasia. Pam was perfect, she'll be great in pastels. Eric was creepy,he needs to show his accent a little more. I wish he'd pull the hair out of his face.
The whole Jason and V-blood thing. Poooh. That was just silliness.
I found Sam rolling in the sheets a little disgusting and creepy. At first I thought he was going to try to "sniff" for the killer.I liked this episode for the comedy in it. I was ROFMAO with the walkin scene with Tara and the doctor's comment. Eggplant?!?!?!? I'm still chuckling. It was silly, but so funny.
I don't remember anything about Dawn and Sam being mentioned in the first book so that's why it was so odd to see him rolling around smelling her sheets. That's some stalker shit to do, if you ask me!I say Jason got so aroused because of the conversation Bud, Andy and he were having. I noticed it again when he turned it from the porn and put it on the news and they were discussing war.
i think the sam in the sheets thing was just like when a dog likes the smell of something (clean clothes, deer droppings, etc.) they roll in it.was it creepy though? yup!

I thought this episode was wonderful. I liked finally getting to see Eric, I thought Bill and Sookie would be a little more touchy feely in this one. I LOVED THE V-JUICE AND JASON PART!!! I couldn't stop laughing. When they had to stick the needle in... HAHAH loved it. Yeah what was up with Sam rolling around in the sheets... a little creepy if you ask me.
Maybe sam was trying to hide from the vampires ,or whoever might go to Dawn's place to cover up something, that Sookie wasn't there. BEcause she touched the blanket and all. That's really a long shot though. That really was some weird stuff he was doing. He seemed to be really enjoying all of that. It didn't look to me like same was mourning Dawn to much before he went over there. It's just kinda weird that he would be rolling around in her sheets like that. And ummm isn't he contaminating the crime scene. I mean yeah he's wearing gloves but hello how much hair and such is he getting on the sheets by rolling around like that. Weird weird weird.

Eric and Pam are alright for now. That dude needs to beef up though and grow out and dye his hair.
I also loved the Tara/Jason flashback. Not in the books, but a nice touch.
I'm so bummed that Gran and Layfayette's time is growing short. At least we'll have Tara for comic relief. And Bubba! We need some Bubba!
It's funny how we can all watch the same show but come away with different theories. Because they showed the picture of Sam and Dawn looking happy with their arms around each other, it seemed logical to me that he was grieving in his own animal way. I think he was originally sniffing the sheets for clues but then became overwhelmed with Dawn's smell on the sheets. If definitely didn't strike me as sexual. Hopefully we'll get some insight into what was really going on next week.
I just don't like Bill. I guess it's because I know what Bill does to Sookie later on in the series. They probably could have Gerard Butler or some other sexy hollywood guy play him and I'd still hate him. I wish they'd let Alex wear his real hair. Why that horrible wig?

I pronouced it Sue-key. I guess that's how it's suppose to be? Suk-key?
Bill is a cheater. He's boring. He has no appeal besides the fact that he's a vampire but now she has so many other cool more interesting vamps around her (Eric, Pam) that who cares about him being a vamp too? He's a faker and he's a wimp. Eric would have took whatever his sire had if it had been him.

Becca, I think it's sexy as well. Book Bill and TV Bill are so different. I'd consider Sookie being with TV Bill because he is kind of sexy. I'd have jumped his bones after that altercation with the policeman cuz that was cool how he scared the piss (literally) out of the man. He was like "why don't you have her open her legs to see if there are bite marks THERE!"

I agree I was waiting for Sookie to jump bills bones in the car like in the book. He was being pretty sexy with his influence and such with the policeman. I think he is much sexier than the book Bill plus I'm still kinda irritated with book bill. Still loving Eric though. Although did anyone find it kinda weird when eric and pam were kinda floating away that was strange. Does anyone know the next episode eric will appear in. I hope soon.

I happened to have thought that Alexander Skarrsgard was hot as Eric. I have seen him in other movies and think he was a pretty good choice for Eric. Although not Viking *buff*, but he has that *thing* that I like and I think Sookie likes. Yall notice the glance she gave Eric and how defensive Bill got? I guess I am just biased for Eric. Still dislike Bill. Pam was awesome!!!!!! I didn't imagine her with this Southern twang and all, but POIFECT! This whole format Alan Ball is taking with Lafayette and Tara is soooo not near the book, but I guess they have to add stuff to make it more interesting, even tho I thought Charlaine did an awesome job of developing the characters and keeping you on the edge of the seat. I like Tara and Lafayette, but come on Alan, keep it as close to the book as you can. All in all, I am pleased with the series.
She totally glanced multiple times at eric I loved that bill got jealous and such heehee.

Nicole- I agree we need more Sookie and Eric action as well, since Alan not stay as true to the books I think he could give us just a little more. I also wished he keep Lafeyette around. Oh man that guy is hot and sexy too bad he swings the other way( on the show that is).
Book Bill - okay..... TV Bill - a little older than I'd cast, but MUCH better!As for Sam - I think he may have dated Dawn. He's grieving in that last scene on the bed- no matter how weird it seems.

I also liked how eric and pam floated away. Thought that was kinda neat and funny at the same time. I also think the show is trying to show Sam sniffing around for clues, did you notice his belt buckle had a dog on it? And a dog pic in his office? Clues for people who haven't read the books.
