Just finished - just started
Are you enjoying the Dresden Files Terry?I have read 1 and I have 2 to read. They are meant to get a lot better as they go along though!
Just finished and reviewed Three Men in a BoatJust started - nothing yet because I need to finish writing my book!!
I read The Legend of Sleepy Hollow yesterday, not sure i enjoyed it but i have a head cold so concentrating is an issue. Now going to read a couple of MR James stories and see if i can get back into The Old Curiosity Shop
Just finished Foul Justice. Fitting end to this series, enjoyed. Also finished Ghost Fire light and enjoyable
I've just finished a great collection of short stories called Quintessence Of Dust by Craig Wallworth. The whole collection is really good, but the opening two are superb - it can be picked up for free at Smashwords. https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...Now I'm reading Tony Black's latest, published by Blasted Heath. It's no wonder he's Irvine Welsh's favourite Scottish crime writer. http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Storm-Wit...
Both recommended.

Good luck with it Sarah. He's very highly rated and you'll hopefully see why.He has a couple of series out there and the detective Rob Brennan is an interesting creation and worth a look if you enjoy police procedural (I'm loathe to mention Mr Rankin as it seems such an easy fall-back, but they are in a similar ball park).

I've read all of Rankin's,also love Quentin Jardine looking forward to trying another Scottish detective. I was in Ayr last week and see that the story is set there so yet another bonus.
Finished Burden of Proof Enjoyed the stories but disappointed with the length of them. Annoyed with the two samples tagged on the end to bulk it all out. I had bought and read them so half a book really.
Just finished the wonderful To the Grave Seriously one of the best books I have read in a very long time :-) not sure what to follow it with!
Just finished No More Tears by 'our' Andy Barrett. It's the final book in the most fantastic crime/thriller trilogy and I really rate it. It's a while since I've been this excited!
Just finished The Fifth Sister, A Paranormal Romance - Z.L. Arkadie. Now I am about to start Enchantment - Charlotte Abel.
At 150 pages in to The Lacuna I am still waiting for whatever it is that is going to "make everything else in life seem unimportant"
The Lacuna does sound interesting... tho I found her Poisonwood Bible a bit slow going too! Might add it to my list anyway. Have finished a good old fashioned murder mystery, (bought as a DTB secondhand because of cost, I'm afraid) The Shape Of Sandand am now getting engrossed in You: A Novel
I think I'm just bitter that I'm having to read this cause my kindle broke, I am enjoying it but I just don't think it is quite as good as the Independant on Sunday would have you believe.

Am not sure if they serialised the book on the beeb last year, it sounds familiar. Tho that might be just the Frida Kahlo/Trotsky storyline.
Anyway it will be interesting to see why it was deemed a better book than Hilary Mantel's Wolf Hall & snatched the Orange prize.
I loved it, and have now got Bring up the Bodies on the TBR pile but it'll have to wait till I've finished all last years!
I loved the Poisonwood Bible. The Lacuna was one of the first books I downloaded when I got my kindle. Think I've started it about three times now. Just can't get into it.
I think the Lacuna is a bit slow starting though, I enjoyed the 1st chapter with him as a child in Mexico (how weird a character is his mum?!) but found the 2nd a bit odd and I'm not sure why it was included yet other than to explain his ability with the English language on a typewriter.
I've read all the pretty girls Jacqui, thought it was really good, also read the next one in the series as well.
I'm reading Long Time Coming by Robbert Goddard, having read his first book recently - Past Caring. His stories combine the past with the present.
Lorraine I'm enjoying all the pretty girls and hope to finish it tonight. I have also bought the second in the series.
Steve wrote: "I'm reading Long Time Coming by Robbert Goddard, having read his first book recently - Past Caring. Will be interested to know what you think of Long Time coming, Steve, if it's worth giving it a go.
So far I like Past Caring better, Karen, and I'd like to be engaged with this one more than I am. Not quite half way through as yet. i'll let you know.
I've finished reading Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James earlier today and now I've started The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
Stuart wrote: "Just finished and reviewed Three Men in a BoatI haven't read that since I was a kid, Stuart. I mean the first time I was a kid. :-)
I believe the Barley Mow pub on the Thames is featured. I called in at the Barley Mow on the 50th day of my walk. I was very thirsty. They were not open but gave me a glass of water. After the day's walk we came back to the camp site next to the pub and had our evening meal in there. No sign of three men in a boat.
I have relegated The Lacuna to be my bath time book and shall be starting Interesting Times at tea break :o)
I read and really enjoyed (because I like YA Fantasy fiction!) The Flight of the Griffin by C M Gray. Good, engaging story and great characters. Nice one!
Must put that on my TBR list - definitely enough a bit of YA fantasy fiction myself. And Vic - I see what you mean. there is a few missing!

I loved that it was set in a place I know well. Every page had a street name, shop, pub etc that I've heard of or been in many times.
I just finished Kin by Kealan Patrick Burke. If you're looking for backwoods cannibalistic horror then this is the book for you. Brilliant. Five stars. Here's my review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
I've had a run on reading some regency romances by Alica Rasley, which I enjoyed, but was annoyed by the lack of proof reading. Then I read a 20p Mills and Boon which was better than I expected.
I've just finished reading Happy Hour by Anne Mitchel which was ok. I noticed that I had two books called Happy Hour on my kindle, but by different authors. So now I am reading Happy Hour by Michele Scott!
My lap top is slowing down again and I'm having problems adding links, seems to make the screen freeze on me....
