What was the last movie you watched, and what did you think of it? Was it good or bad? How would you rate it on a scale of one to ten?

message 2: by Angela (new)

Angela Gokool | 121 comments The last movie I saw was Little Fockers on DVD. It was funny! Some of the jokes were kind of gross, but otherwise, I liked it. On a scale from one to ten, I'd probably give it a 5.

message 3: by Gemma (new)

Gemma | 153 comments Mod
I enjoyed Little Fockers, too!

The last movie I saw was the remake of Arthur with Russell Brand, and it was pretty good. It was funny, occasionally heartwarming, and the humor wasn't too off-color. From one to ten, I'd call it a 7.

message 4: by Angela (new)

Angela Gokool | 121 comments I've seen the original version of Arthur with Dudley Moore and Liza Minelli. I'd only seen the previews of the remake. It didn't look too promising. I think the original was better. I'd also seen the sequel, Arthur 2: On the Rocks. The first one was definitely better.

Gemma | 153 comments Mod
How would you rate the original? My mom has seen it, but she didn't tell me much about it, only that the remake was tamer.

Just watched P.S. I Love You on TV last night, and I loved it! It was sweet and funny and kind of made my night, to be honest. I'd give it a 9.

message 8: by Angela (new)

Angela Gokool | 121 comments I would give the original version of Arthur an 8.

message 9: by Artemis (new)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments I watched Captain America… 8

Contagion… 9.5

The Mask of Zorro… still haven't finish yet, but it'll probably be very high!

Le Concerte… 10! I love it! And for those of you that like classical music, WATCH IT!!

Gemma | 153 comments Mod
Shucks, I haven't been here in ages!

The last movie I watched was The Lincoln Lawyer, and I would rate it a...hmm...8.5

message 11: by Angela (new)

Angela Gokool | 121 comments The last movie I watched was Santa Claus: The Movie on VHS. I know it's old, but it's the holiday season, after all. I'd give it about a 7, for lots of laughs, and that good, warm, holiday feeling.

message 12: by Artemis (new)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments :) Despicable Me, I re-watched… an 8.5!

message 13: by Erin (new)

Erin (eareed) | 78 comments Source code. Give it a 7.

message 14: by Artemis (new)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments I felt bad for the real Sean… his life (and possibly his wife) was robbed from him…

message 15: by Erin (new)

Erin (eareed) | 78 comments I see your point and hadn't viewed the ending that way. Also watched The Roommate over the weekend. It was not as bad as I thought it would be (granted I was enoying some wine and mixed cocktails at the time). I give it 4.5.

Also, saw The Experiment (2010). What can I say? I'm a movie person. The Experiment was a look at an experient (go figure) involving a group of volunteers set up as either prisoners or guards. I'd give it a sold 8.5, maybe even a 9.

message 16: by Artemis (new)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments Lol, cool.

My parents watched the Hangover 2, but said it isn't as funny as the 1st one…

Gemma | 153 comments Mod
I just watched The Phantom of the Opera, silent version with Lon Chaney. I'd give it a 7, but I have the feeling if I was watching a decent edition with a proper score I would have liked it better. Chaney himself was amazing, though!

Reign of Fire...again. The best dragon movie I've ever seen, though there are still some plot details that annoy me. I'd call it a 7.5 to be fair.

message 21: by Artemis (new)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments Haven't seen that one, nor have I watch movies lately!

Gemma | 153 comments Mod
I got to watch The Lion King last night for the first time in ten years! *happy dance* I can't be allowed to rate this one, as I'm horribly biased. It's one of my all-time faves.

message 23: by Artemis (new)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments I just watched V for Vendetta! 10! Well, maybe 9.5 for the sort of sad ending…

message 24: by Gemma (new)

Gemma | 153 comments Mod
I think you got the V for Vendetta rating just about right, Artemis...

The last thing I watched was Corpse Bride, and maybe I'm biased (being a Tim Burton/Johnny Depp/Helena Bonham Carter nut), but I give it another 10.

Ah, I just love stop-motion.

message 25: by Artemis (new)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments Hehe, the best is when V and Evey first met and he started his introduction with a string of V words! I am glad now that I have masked men for France, Spain and now England.

Erik - the Phantom, Zorro and now V.

Adam Sutler = Adolf Hitler. (He was even called "Chancellor"!)

The fencing part reminds me of Zorro and Gemma, what do these three items make you think of: Mask, rose and shattered mirror?

And then you realize why he was called V. His cell number is 5 -- And the Roman numeral for 5 is... V.

One last thing, I don't think I'll ever listen to the 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky without thinking of V and Evey.

I am with you on all of that! ;)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments Lol, and when he asked her name... "E-vey... It's meant to be."

message 28: by Artemis (new)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments The Help. 8.5

Lol, "What a delicious pie! Gosh, what's in it?"

"Eat. My. Sh*t."

message 29: by Angela (new)

Angela Gokool | 121 comments The last movie I watched was Did you hear about the Morgans? on DVD. Hilarious! I'd give it a 7.

message 30: by Erin (new)

Erin (eareed) | 78 comments The Debt. Sadly, a 7. I expected it to be better.

message 31: by Gemma (new)

Gemma | 153 comments Mod
Odd. I just watched The Help and Did You Hear About the Morgans? myself. LOL

Law Abiding Citizen. About an 8 for me.

message 32: by Artemis (new)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments Lol~

The Prestige... Pretty interesting. About a 7/7.5. Would be happier if it hadn't given me the shudders and shivers, but I guess that's expected for a movie like that...

Gemma | 153 comments Mod
Ooh, I loved that one!

The Box. Not my cup of tea at all. A 4.

message 34: by Artemis (new)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments Anonymous. Absolutely great! 10~

message 35: by Anna (new)

Anna (SylviaGrant) The Miracle Worker (20000) It was very excellent except that Captain Keller and James get on your nerves too often, Helen was adorable and played her very well, as for Mrs. Keller, she was rather submissive and loving towards Helen and finally the miracle worker herself: Anne Sullivan: She was performed very well but I felt as if the original was much, much better. So, four and half stars.

Wagons East - Not bad...mostly dumb fun. A 6

Little Women - A 10, as always, though it always makes me cry.

message 37: by Artemis (new)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments I know right? And it's even sadder considering that she was basically writing about her family, and her sister really died of Scarlet Fever.

message 38: by Erin (new)

Erin (eareed) | 78 comments Our idiot brother. a 6 and three quarters. Nice idea, some good performances, but overal poory executed. IMHO

The Soloist. Pretty amazing! I've always admired Robert Downey, Jr., and if I wasn't a fan of Jamie Foxx before this one, I most definitely am now. A 9 in my book.

message 40: by Artemis (new)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments The Three Musketeer. A super disappointment. 4

My gosh, the plot is like a plot made for children. Logan Lerman looks okay as Percy Jackson, and he looks absolutely weird, with long hair - still do not understand the fan-girl squeals for him... As well as Justin Bieber. - It is a good story... Up until airships come in. Seriously... AIRSHIPS??? IN THE 17TH CENTURY???

message 41: by Erin (new)

Erin (eareed) | 78 comments Drive-5. Too much subtlety for me. Slow and awkward.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes- 7.5 I was really surprised. Solidly put together and great imagery.

message 42: by Gemma (new)

Gemma | 153 comments Mod
Sucks to hear about Three Musketeers. I was a little iffy when I heard they were going steampunk, but still...

The Phantom of the Opera (1943). Meh. It was all right and I did like it better the second time around, but I still didn't really enjoy it until I stopped thinking of it as Phantom-ish. 5.5

message 43: by Artemis (new)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments I just realized that I never actually saw any Phantom. For both POTO and LND, I've only listen to the soundtracks, and I quite like them. Is this what an audio book sounds like? ;) The really good thing is that I can imagine all the characters base on their voices!

message 44: by Artemis (new)

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments And the Three Musketeers... I think I am fine with all the steampunk theme despite what I said earlier... It's just something doesn't feel quite right. Like something is missing... It could be the boring, almost childish, plot and lines, and the lack of character developement... Hmm... *resuming the Thinker's pose*

Really? You haven't seen any of them? I've got a copy of the 2004 version I watch constantly, and I saw '25 and '43 on YouTube. Here you are if you want to watch for yourself:

Jumpin' Jack Flash - hmm...7.

message 48: by Artemis (new)

Hmm........ 6. Summary: It is a movie about a bunch of over reacting idiots.

Artemis (artemisknight) | 77 comments Batman: the Rising(?) ((The latest one))

8. It was fun to see how it all started but I just can't figure out where I've seen that young, evil guy before...
