I just finished , a wordless book other than a couple animal sounds within the pictures. The whole book is full of wonderful watercolor illustrations that tell the story without words.
It reminded me of a classic,, which was a huge wordless book...over a hundred pages. If I recall correctly, the illustrations were done in pencil...over a hundred pages in black and white that told the story. It was fascinating and detailed.
Does anyone know of other high quality wordless books?
I enjoy wordless books as well, Manypagesago! My favorite author for wordless books is David Wiesner. You can also find a list of Wordless Picture Books at Listopia.
I would also recommend the lovely _Yellow Umbrella_ by Jae Soo Liu, which has music instead of words; it comes with a CD of music composed by Dong Il Sheen, meant to be played while "reading." Yellow Umbrella
