Merging with a Goodreads author

T. L. Hines is a Goodreads author. According to the manual author names with initials should no spaces between consecutive initials. And there's a duplicate listed: T.L. Hines and a duplicate entry for one of his books. I tried to merge them but wasn't allowed to because Goodreads authors are "responsible for editing their own data". So how do we get them merged?
