I remember this book from the early 90s about a possessed/haunted dress. The book follows what happens when a few young women wear the dress, so the book is basically comprised of short stories of different females wearing the same dress at different times.
The first young woman to wear the dress finds it in a trunk at an old woman's house. She wears it to her prom and something bad happens. At some point in the story the dress winds up at a thrift store and again once it's worn something bad happens. Ultimately, *spoiler* turns out that the sister of the old woman from the beginning of the book died in the dress so she haunts or possesses it and the old woman knows this and allows others to get hurt by wearing the dress.
