Elizabeth (Alaska) | 6659 comments The detail for the book Broken April indicates it was a Man Booker Nominee for 2005. This is incorrect. The author, Ismail Kadare was awarded the Man Booker International Prize in 2005. This award is for a body of work, not for a single work. I could just delete the information on the book, but it seems reasonable that it should be added to the author description and I'm uncertain as to its proper placement.

Beth (bethjustbeth) | 1586 comments How about adding it to the author's profile, at the end of the bio?

Elizabeth (Alaska) | 6659 comments Sure, if that would be the normal way of doing it. I'll go make the change, and can always undo it.

Beth (bethjustbeth) | 1586 comments I don't see anywhere else to put it...and I think you're right...it should be included.

Elizabeth (Alaska) | 6659 comments Done, thanks Beth!

This Is Not The Michael You're Looking For | 949 comments Same problem occurs with some frequency with the Nobel Prize for Literature. It's awarded for lifetime achievement but people mistakenly attach it to specific books because publishers spam "Winner of the Nobel Prize" all over the covers to increase sales.

Stephen Theaker (rolnikov) | 12 comments Hi - I was just adding the British Fantasy Award for Best Novel to the record for this year's winner, and noticed that something glitchy seems to have happened, with hundreds of odd books having acquired British Fantasy Awards, e.g. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/63.... They're not nominees, just unrelated books.

Here's the list: http://www.goodreads.com/award/show/8...

The ones that need to go are basically all those that don't have a specific category listed, and all those whose category is "Top Ten".

The actual winners can be found here: http://www.locusmag.com/SFAwards/Db/B...

Sorry that I don't have time to sort them out myself...

vicki_girl | 2765 comments Looking at the list something got horribly messed up for the BFA. However, I started to fix it, but only got through 2011 and 2010. I think just about every single item on that list is wrong (other than the ones I just fixed). I'm thinking about just deleting the whole thing and starting over.

Opinions?

If it's faster/easier, that seems perfectly reasonable.

vicki_girl | 2765 comments Okay, I started a new list here:

http://www.goodreads.com/award/show/8...

I have added the winners from 2000 - 2011. I will continue to add the rest of the winners and the nominees over the next week or so. If anyone else wants to pitch in, please feel free!

ETA: Did a few more. Winners from 1995 - 2011 are now listed.

vicki_girl | 2765 comments I found a more complete list here (at least up through 2008):

http://www.screamingdreams.com/ebooks...

The winners from 1972 (1st year) through 2011 should be entered now. I will double check against the list above later.

The nominees may take longer, just due to volume...:S

Stephen Theaker (rolnikov) | 12 comments Yeah, they took me ages first time around...
