Depiction of Dumas: True or False?

Just wondering if anyone knows how accurate are the points made concerning Alexander Dumas. Did he really do the kind of collaborations referred to in the book? It basically suggests that he had a collaborator for at least The Three Musketeers, someone who actually wrote parts of the manuscript in his place.. Anyone know about this?

Seems he (and many other authors of the period) used folk to collect data and tales. The confusion seems to be how much of the finished stuff was all his.
Many think that henchmen helped (with the outline and Hx colouring of the tales at most) and he did main work and the final polish.
