Terri Court | 25 comments How would you work with a student like Rowdy - who was as Arnold puts it, "born mad"?

message 2: by Stacy (new)

Stacy Adrian | 20 comments I think that before you even think about working with a student like this, a counselor would need to spend a lot of time building rapport... it seems as though basketball is an interest. I would try to go off of that in discussion with him.

Jocelyn | 20 comments I agree with Stacy as Rowdy seems to be angry at anyone and everyone that crosses his path. Working at slow pace and steadily building trust with him would hopefully lead to later discussions without walls being up. Just letting him come into the room and sit there or look around a few times might help him feel more comfortable before getting into any conversations.

Theresa (ttemplin) | 27 comments I agree with both Stacy and Jocelyn. It would be important to work with his anger management. Maybe develop an anger management group.
