Zoha (sunnysideuplollipop) | 1069 comments Illegal.
You should just have it yourself with someone else. You shouldn't see someone else's......

Naomi Scarlett | 243 comments Illegal!!! I just think it's wrong.

message 6: by Whitlea (new)

Whitlea It may be considered morally wrong, but would making it illegal infringe on personal freedoms? If the people involved are able to consent and agree then it isn't up to the government to play morality police. I say keep it legal (and I'll stay as far away as possible from it. xD)

Its videos of people having sex

message 11: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Alright, so I know people who have looked up stuff like that, and they only have like once. They said its like super awkward but not as bad as what people say it is.

I personally think it should be illegal, but honestly I don't care if it is legal.

message 12: by Thalia (new)

Thalia (thaliaanderson) Don't google porn. That's a bad idea all around. Don't want to end up with an eyeful. Porn is basically pictures/videos of people having sex/naked individuals/etc.

While I'm completely against porn and everything is represents and what it does to society, I can't say it should be illegal. What a person wants to do in the privacy of their own home is none of my business, nor the government's business, especially if it doesn't physically abuse/harm any person, aside from the viewer. It would be wrong to declare it as illegal, while I do think it's an abomination.

Porn, like anything else, is addicting; it's destroyed families and households, the same as drugs or alcoholism.

Why would that be okay? I mean..seriously. Sex is supposed to be something shared between you and the one you love. Not anyone else.

Waterfall *Daughter of Northridge Earthquake* (falls) But it's not the government's job to get messed into that.

Not everybody believes that. The government can't pick and choose which morals to enforce. If the people involved consent to it, there really isn't anything they can do.

Andre and Sophie (sophiem) | 100 comments Legal. To each his own. You can't say that it's wrong. You wouldn't want people trying to control what you do in your free time.

There are a lot of things that are "rights" that we should still ban.

By 'we', you mean 'you', privately. It's unconstitutional to ban things that are rights. Just out of curiosity, what are you thinking of?

message 29: by luhvBOOKS, Niall is the only one <3 (new)

luhvBOOKS | 1114 comments Mod
Okay, about what? Rights in general or porn rights?

message 30: by Zoha (new)

Zoha (sunnysideuplollipop) | 1069 comments I'm guessing she means both. But on the Werewolves or Vampire topic I was talking about this kinds of things. Porn and all. Shows are just like that now. Gish I wish they weren't.

Waterfall *Daughter of Northridge Earthquake* (falls) The 'rights' you think we should ban.

I loled so hard when I read that rofl.

Anyway... Of course I'm gonna say illegal but I mean come on who listens to me without writing back and giving me a lecture? The point is, weather it's legal or not people are still gonna do it -_-

And whoever said the "rights" thing is.... I don't wanna say anything offensive. The point is(wow I said that twice), is that just because people enjoy doing it(eww), doesn't mean it's a right that should be legal. (now we know what someone does on their free time.... JK) just think about it. I wanna smoke drugs all day and I'm not affecting anyone besides myself(physicly), but does that make it my right? No shoot first off my mom would beat me and my dad would bring the belt (not that I've ever gotten it lol but if I DID do something like that I'd expect that I would) AND I'll go to jail. And I mean the same thing with this thing your only affecting yourself. Well the people that care about you too but not as much as yourself.

But like I said, no matter what it is people are still gonna do it anyway -_-

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

One word: sick.

message 34: by Thalia (new)

Thalia (thaliaanderson) I think I said this in the "Abortions" topic, but just because someone is 'going to do it anyway' doesn't mean anything.

But it is a person's right to view whatever they please in their home. It's illegal to look at porn on an office or public computer you know. But in their own home, a person can do whatever they want, as long as it doesn't physically harm somebody else. Drugs are different, because they can lead to horrible things for others (for instance; an episode of Dragnet (all the cases are true) a couple left their baby in tub, got high, and the kid drowned).

Porn doesn't actully hurt anybody, physically. It detroys a person mentally, but it's not the government's place to tell them what a person can and cannot see.

message 35: by Hanna[h] (new)

Hanna[h] Cumberbatch (andthetheyburiedmemummble) | 620 comments Again, I think that it should be illiegal, but no matter what it is people WILL do it anyway. Nuff said.

message 36: by Lina (new)

Lina (booksnotlovers) How can porn destroy a person mentally?

message 37: by luhvBOOKS, Niall is the only one <3 (new)

luhvBOOKS | 1114 comments Mod
What if the guy posts it without the girl knowing? There was a college student who was gay and two other college students videotaped him having sexual intercourse with another man. They put it on the Internet. The man, who was a victim of cyberbullying, committed suicide. It destroys people.

message 38: by Thalia (new)

Thalia (thaliaanderson) Well...I don't have anything to say to that. Sorry. :/

Lina: Think of a grown man, with wife and children. He becomes addicted to porn? He doesn't want to be with his family anymore. He cares less and less about his wife, his children. Being online could become the only thing he cares about. It's happened to people before. :/ And, like any other addiction, there are actual programs to help people get off wanting porn.

I'm not touching the drug debate with a ten-foot pole. xD
Honestly, it's no one else's business if someone chooses to view porn (unless it's a significant other or something of the sort.) Like Thalia said, it isn't for the government to control what someone does in their own house.
Just because you find something to be morally wrong does not mean the government should ban it. That's a very dangerous path to tread. While things like murder and theft have an immediately negative affect on others, porn does no such thing. It's only if it's abused. Many people will argue that it's wrong to practice religion, or that it's wrong to to eat fast food, but it's not fair to impose a certain morality upon people...

Yeah. Morally, its wrong. But it has to be legal. Its stripping people of their rights, even if the rights are so disgusting.
