Theresa G | 26 comments It seems as though the reservation community in the book handles its disagreements with fist fights. How could a counselor discourage fighting and promote other healthier ways to deal with disagreements?

message 2: by Terri (new)

Terri Court | 25 comments The counselor could do some class room guidance lessons with conflict resolution utilizing some role playing activities.

message 3: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Sorenson | 20 comments I like the Terri's ideas of using conflict resolution. I think in this situation the problem goes deeper than the kids. It is something that is passed down from adults, so maybe it would be helpful to add some parenting classes that deal with conflict resolution.

Brenda | 31 comments I would also provide some guidance materials on healthy relationships and respect.

message 5: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Solberg | 41 comments i would want to get the parents involved in this. I would want to send materials home for the parents.
