This is feedback, so perhaps it should be in the discussion, but I think it just pertains to us. I was looking to enter some author biographical information, but when it came to picking a country of origin I was stumped. The choices only list current countries, and some authors were born in countries that don't exist any more.

I understand this would be a great undertaking to fix, but perhaps that field could be treated like shelves and have us be able to enter new ones if the right one isn't there?

We added a new field to the author profile "city of origin", which can be used in conjunction or in place of country of origin. This should solve the problem - enjoy!
