I really liked the story "Chac Mool". It reminded me a little of the Guillermo del Toro movies (i.e. Orphanage). I had a harder time following the other stories. The last one was an interesting critqiue of consumer culture but I didn't get the ending. I'd be interested to know what other people's impresssions / insights are to these short stories.

One might say Guillermo Del Toro must have been inspired by the Chac Mool story seeing it is older than him. If you liked this story you should read Aura, which is a longer version of the old woman ghost story. Please see my review for my impressions. Thanks.
