Chart-plotting Global Positioning Satellite receiver, depth/temperature gauge, VHS radio w/ weather channels, MPH/KPH gauge, all for a week or so's wages, on a little 17' boat...

How brave they had to have been back then...
How simple it is for us now...

I ask because one of the members there, a while back, was posting pages of a story he was writing about prohibition-era rum-runners...
