For those of you who don't know me, my name is Lindsay and I am a new moderator for this group. I figured I could get my moderating feet wet by setting up a new reading for July.
I've read back over some of the previous suggestions, and have set up a list for you guys to vote on. I'll let you know by the end of the month which book has won. Unless you guys would like to read two?
Without further ado, here is the list for your consideration:

The Storyteller's Daughter
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie
The Help
A Study in Scarlet
White Oleander
Matched

Thanks Lindsay! There are two that I can't decide on so I'll vote for them both.

The Storyteller's Daughter and Matched.

Tasha

Heather | 8 comments Hi Lindsay!

Great choices! There are three that I'd like to vote for: The Storyteller's Daughter, Matched, & A Study in Scarlet.

I wouldn't be able to read Matched until August though since I am still very, very far down my library's queue to receive a copy.

Mackenzie Stanley (crigger5) In truth, I would read any of these books selected. I think reading two books is a good idea. My top 2 choices are The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (Flavia de Luce, #1) by Alan Bradley and A Study in Scarlet (Sherlock Holmes, #1) by Arthur Conan Doyle . I also have been wanting to read White Oleander by Janet Fitch for years.

I've been on the waiting list for Matched for months! I completely understand! Maybe we should hold that one for August, then?

Mackenzie Stanley (crigger5) I think that's a good idea. :)

My computer at home is broken, so I'll announce winners now, in case I don't get back to the computer in the next few days...
The Storyteller's daughter
and
A Study in Scarlet

We'll hold onto Matched for August.

Happy reading everyone!!

Mackenzie Stanley (crigger5) I just got A Study in Scarlet (Sherlock Holmes, #1) by Arthur Conan Doyle and The Storyteller's Daughter by Cameron Dokey today from the library. They both look to be quick reads :)

Unfortunately my library doesn't seem to carry The Storyteller's Daughter... looks like I'll be making a trip to the bookstore. Hope it turns out to be a good one, or I suppose I'll just be donating it to the library.

An intriguing and fascinating book on how countries vie against each other to be top dog on the world stage. Spies, double agents, love triangles -- it’s all in a day’s work for super spy Alexey! In today’s interconnected world, this book gives an interesting perspective on how much competition goes on behind the scenes with ambitions and stakes running high. Hearts are broken and for some power is gained.

Illuminating book on the espionage sphere. Lots of mind games involved. Great book with high drama which makes for a perfect summer read!

Heather | 8 comments I've just finished both The Storyteller's Daughter
and A Study in Scarlet. Both really quick reads!

And already just the beginning of the month! Should I have assigned a third book?! :O I hope they were good reads.
My copy of Matched came in early, so I've jumped into August's reading a little ahead of schedule.
