M-, Thank you! It will be wonderful to get more of those old books shelved and, yes, it is a massive project. Thanks for starting to do this, and thanks for this thread for organizing it.
So much thanks to Rebecca, who has been doing a tremendous job shelving old found books, a task that has needed doing for 4 years, and is finally getting done. Thank you, Rebecca! I appreciate all your hard work, and what you've done will benefit all our current and future members, and the Goodreads community.
I'm not a moderator, but I read a post about needing people to put solved books on shelves. I've been going through the shelves, starting at the oldest post and working forward. I've checked children, young adult, and adult fiction, and non-fiction. So now we just need to keep current.
Kate, I've noticed all your hard work and it's much appreciated. Thank you so, so much. You've done this group a great service, and I'm surprised by how many books you've added to our shelves. The fact that you got to all of them is amazing. Many others have tried, and have relatively quickly given up.

This means I've picking a folder, heading to the last page, starting at the chronologically oldest post and working backwards from there. If I find a post with a found book that hasn't been added; I add it. If I find a post with a found book that has been added; I check the added book to make sure it (first) has been tagged with all the appropriate shelves (that is: read, adult-fiction) and (second) has the URL link to the found-book post in the 'Why this book? / Why we are reading this' category.
Example of shelved book.
Because this shelving project will be a lengthy one, and one I imagine we will all be working on a little bit at a time, I thought to use this topic thread as a way to keep track of what bits of have been done so far.
Thus:
